OK, so let me say that I have used the search function and came up with nothing... Today I came home from work with the bike just fine, changed and went out to go for a ride and bike didn't start... OK I thought, maybe just a hard start, go through the process of removing the emissions canister and try again... Nothing, so I watch a video of someone starting the bike to see what I may be missing and it hits me... No fuel pump, no prime, nothing... Anyone have this problem? Any ideas? I dont want my bike in the shop all weekend if I don't have to...
Thanks

Haha, it wasn't that I didn't know how to start the bike, I thought it was the fuel pump but just wanted to be sure

5 posts, hey man, you just woke up someday and decided to get a duc after riding a tricycle? You gotta be kidding me, you don't know how it sounds when you turn the key to ready up for start????

I had a 848 before my panigale (and was on ducati.org before 2 days ago when I got my new bike) , and you don't have to be a douche because I overlooked something... Jesus, it's nice to see how helpful everyone around here is... I'm not screaming help over something retarded that there are 20 threads that could have been used to find an answer...

Your original story is still inconsistent to say the least. So you hear nothing when you turn the key and you proceeded to remove the fuel canister? Dope!

In short, the bike is very complicated and given the few discordant details, it is impossible for anyone to help u. Suggest you call Ducati Card Roadside assistance.

wait a sec, I searched you and realize that just yesterday you had a leaking fuel problem after changed your filter out to aftermarket. What gives Man?

I did, my dealer is coming to pick it up... The bike ran just fine this morning (fixed the fuel problem) I guess I'm having bad luck with a brand new bike... I don't know how the fuel pump just decided to stop working after being just fine for about 30 miles of riding (round trip to and from work) I never had issues on my 848 but I guess I'm jus too nubbly on the panigale to do anything right

Awesome, for a moment there I thought you were pulling everyone's leg, now I see that you are doing the smart thing so you don't get hurt on this weapon.

It was a wire disconnected from the fuel pump connector... I'm never gonna take the bike apart again

could'nt be blamed, the check engine light did not come out, the diagnostic is on the relay not on the fuel pump itself, future systems may use a direct drive F.pump instead of a relay....then diagnostic-able....

Don't be afraid of caring for your bike, just be meticulous in checking that everything is put together correctly. It's definitely not rocket science!

Glad it was something simple. Hve fun on your daily ride.

Caution to caring for vs. servicing. In servicing without commensurate skills can yield catastrophe down the road. Losing fuel abruptly or engine shutdown while riding can result in accident. It is advisable to be careful as trial and error approach to servicing can result in much worse than simply a bike that won't start. You can find a lot of advice on the net but without applying common sense you may end up much worse.
We all love the excitement that the Duc can bring, but owning the Duc doesn't in and of itself qualify everyone to be certified technicians. I'd follow the manuals advice and check the things that I can check, and get expert help for those things that are not easily addressable as end user tasks. You'll live longer, IMO. Disclaimer: this naturally doesn't apply to those of you with sound mechanical and automotive knowledge/experience.
