After watching the entire 2013 season on you tube,(they no longer televise wsbk in my neck of the woods) It looks like Ducati is going to need the 250cc advantage they used to have available to them. It looks like the bike was improving slightly as the season progressed, but they had their best finish in wet conditions which shows they have the handleing and electronics down, they are seriously short on HP. With the exception of Honda the 4 cylinder bikes are really churning out the grunt.

Yup.
For once the regulations don't work for Ducati.

Old write up, but still very much relevant.

And that is why in Superstock 1000, where regulations are less impactful, the panigales (along with HP4 and Kawasaki ZX10R) are quite competitive to each other. All three have their handling package and electronics sorted, while Suzuki, Yamaha, and Honda are less so.

if you wanna see 1199's shine, watch "World Super Stock 1000" races on you tube, I think that class is/was a fair game for the Panigale, amazing performance compared to other nearly stock machines....

The Assen finish was pretty awesome...

Very enlightening link, I didn't know they had to run a restrictor "plate" that negates the 1.84 bore to stoke ration of the Pani ,makes it a liability in fact.
I have been trying to find a con rod length for the 1199 and have not been able to find it anywhere. If anyone on here knows it would you please post it?
