Actually......WTF VW? Just read in MPN (Motorcycle Powersports News that Volkswagen is shopping Ducati. They are looking for 1-$1.6-billion for the company. Volkswagen apparently needs to streamline operations in an effort to recoup penalties they incurred from lying about emissions. Some of the possible suitors are Hero, Harley, Kawasaki, Honda and a myriad of Chinese companies. God I hope it doesn't go to China, India or Harley.....smdh.....

You forgot Royal Enfield... There's a whatsapp joke going around on how the new RE/Ducati model will look like, and it's not pretty! LMAO!

Thing is globally we made china a power house they indirectly (through shares) or directly own alot of businesses/houses.

There's not many companies that could hand over 1.6 Billion

Sure would be a sad day/century if China/India were to buy. Deep down hoping it stays in Europe, or goes back to Italy where it belongs.

Mercedes??

love to see FIAT come in a scoop up Ducati, then Ferrari , Alfa Romeo, and Ducati under the same umbrella.

India didn't kill Range Rover. Their lineup now is better than it's ever been.

That's exactly what I was about to say! Tata didn't ruin Jag/Range. They pretty much gave them life and look at them now, producing world leading vehicles. What Ducati needs is a parent company that just gives them the cash flow and that's it. Let Ducati be it's own entity and continue doing it's own thing. That being said, PLEASE NOT HARLEY!!!!

Yeah, but Tata didn't express interest, it was Hero. We all know they treated EBR. Not the same kind of company for sure, but if Hero how long before Ducati is pimping scooters in lieu of big bore superbikes.....especially special editions like superleggeras, etc... I would love to see a purchase by Mercedes or Fiat. Keep Ducati in a company with good production operations so quality and reliability stay up while keeping it innovative. JMO ;)

Why?

Don't recall the last time a Lamborghini or Bugatti won a race in any respectable competition.

So you wouldn't be interested if a company that owned all three brands produced a Lamborghini superbike? And you only buy Ducati to be associated with the glory of their race teams?

The history of how they handled EBR and MV Augusta is an absolute train wreck. Harley has shown many times over the years that all they are capable of is building and selling hard core cruisers. They could not even make the V-Rod successful.
