Like the title says, I went out this morning for the usual breakfast run, tried opening her up and once pass 7.5-8K RPMs the motor starts to stumble, the prms wont go past 8K. Tried it on all three modes WET, SPORT and RACE does not mater still does it.
I tried accelerating slowly and then stabbing it, same result...fells like its running out of gas.
Could it be the fuel pump?
The bike had the break in service done and its got 750 miles.

I've also noticed this, even when I ease into the throttle it still hesitates before it takes off!!

I had this happen once a while ago when it was hot. It happened at 3-4K. I chalked it up to something goofing of with the electronics. Hasn't happened again.

OK...It sounds like something different than whats happening with mine, I can duplicate the Issue with mine over and over.
It seems to stall around the same RPMs, I'll have to talk to my local dealership on Tuesday when they open. at this point I hope the won't say
that I'm not supposed to be running in that high of the RPMs, lol..

this has been reported by at least one or two other forum members. It was initially thought that ducatis governed the bikes until first service (which wouldn't apply in your case in any event. At the first service they don't have to unlock anything in terms of performance, so completely baffled by what yours is doing. The only difference I noted was the rpms changed color (red at 6k before 600 miles service now goes to 7k before turns red)

I'm really interested to hear what this is.

this is totally stupid question, wonder if it could be a vacuum leak? Do you still have your charcoal cannister? Wondering if that or other vacuum line is blocked or open?

The other easy thing is perhaps a crimped fuel line, have you had the bodywork off or tank up? Do you know if this just started or if you just started going to the higher rpms?

Larry any issues letting the bike sit and not starting after about 30-45 min? Your symptoms sound very much like fuel pressure dropping off which could be related to the fuel pump or canister. The canister is easy to test especially since the problem is repeatable.

sounds like she's not getting enough fuel.

Yes, I did remove the charcoal canister once I purchased the bike, I've done it an all my Ducs...

As far as the fuel lines, I'm sure the mechanic that did the 1st service took off the bodywork and perhaps raise the gas tank?

Only happens at the higher rpms 7.5 and up...

Funny you should mention that MAVIC, had her not start on me once after filling up at the gas station.
I let her sit for a few minutes and fired right up, didn't think much of it at that moment.

I guys
I m from Portugal , sorry my English

My 1199s have the same problem
Maybe because i have the full termi And after upload the maps the motor starts To stumble after 8 k .
The Bike fells like running out the gas , but the problem can be to much fuel , i will put the original map To try .

Have your dealer call Ducati Austin or Ducati and inquire about the Victor Coots bike, they know my name by now as I have been a total pain in their ... because their bike is a pain in my ... right now so I just transferred a bit of my pain:D. Anyway, they will give them all of the information regarding to the fuel pump issue I had with my bike. I never had the 8k drop out because I was still in break in. Would I have had the issue? Can't honestly say but the dealer will be able to repeat the tests Rory McGuire performed on my bike. On a side note, they also re-sync'd the throttle bodies as well. Hope you get is solved soon.

Thanks, Will pass along this Info to the guys in the service department.

Happy Days!

Well, took the bike into the shop this morning for the 7.5 and higher rpm stall and also mentioned the hard start Issue that I had earlier in the week.
Got a call around 3:00pm telling me to come pick up the bike.
They found that the fuel pump was running low pressure, replaced the pump and checked the throttle position, just got home with the bike and she revs all the way up with out a hick-up....happy with the dealership and the speed with which they took care of the problem.:)

I love it when symptoms come together.....and I wish I had your dealer. Sounds like they knew of the issues with the pumps and had them in stock. Happy riding Larry!! Who knows, I might even get to ride my bike before this month ends..... green with envy.

Hopefully you'll have your bike back soon, I gave them all the info that you posted (thank you by the way), they did the troubleshooting and even mentioned to me that the pump seems to have a mechanical pressure relieve or bypass that had failed and they notice movement (swirling)? in the gas inside the tank, also the pump was noisier than usual.
They actually took the pump from a new bike that they had in the crate just to get me up and running while the pump that they ordered for me arrives.
Cant complain about the service department, they took my bike in right away without an appointment and had me back on the road this afternoon..:D
