bent

Long story short, does anyone know of a surefire method for determining if a swingarm is bent from the result of a rear end impact? Without going into too much detail, the bike does not have a straight wheel/good tire on it at the time. Anyone with experience with these bikes in these types...

Putting on a new tire to day, I noticed my front Mag has a bent/scratched lip. I have no idea how or when this happened. Is this what a pot hole does, or something else? Is it repairable? TIA
