commander

When I pulled the seat off my 1299, I was surprised to find a Power Commander lurking underneath. The bike has a full Akra exhaust with the Evo Race ECU map. Is the Power Commander really doing anything useful for the bike?

Any one have any experience with using a power commander V with a 2017 1299? Their website states that the one that they sell only works with a 2015, but i thought all 2015-2017's are the same. thanks Daniel
