heat issues

Practically burning thighs just above knee. Is the heat from the exhaust? Will a pipe upgrade offer a solution?? I asked the dealership I bought it from if this is normal and they said yeah, it’s a big bike it gets hot… But seems excessive. Thoughts and experience much appreciated!!
