So I saw my buddy Speedy has Sato racing hook on his 1299S and I thought it doesn't fix (according to Sato racing website) but I took a chance ordering a set since I saw it was possible. when I got it, I tried fit test it and sure enough it doesn't fit since the exhaust heat guard is in the way...

So my ProGrips 717 came in yesterday and this week I was gonna change em outs. Did you guys just take a razor blade to the stockers and then soap up the new ones and slip them on? Or is there something I will need to remove, especially on the throttle side? OEM salvageable in any way...
