    Bike won't rev over 5000 RPM 1199R 2013

HI Guys, Im wondering if anyone here can shed any light on a problem that has started recently on my Panigale 1199 R 2013. The bike will not exceed 5000 rpm in any gear or eve in neutral, its just like there's a rev limiter on there like a pit lane limiter. It bounces off the revs just like...

V4S jerky motion at/above 8000 rpm, ruined chain?

V4S jerky motion at/above 8000 rpm, ""SOLVED"" My v4 s is acting strange around 8000 rpm. It runs very jerky and performs a very constant pulsating movement with steady throttle/ constant rpm but in the higher range from like 8000-11 000rpm. When accelerating hard it feels like the bike bumps...

    V4S Low RPM Advice

Hello Everyone, I just picked up a V4S this past Saturday and I barely hit 50 miles yesterday. So here is my problem/question... I already knew this was going to be a problem and need some advice. I live in a small town where the highest speed limit is 35. The city is infested with...

    Lowering RPM's in WSB

Looks like Honda gets a bump and Ducati gets a lowered RPM. "At the conclusion of the 3rd round of the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship the concession points scores see the top two manufacturers Ducati and Kawasaki at the top of the table. Due to the gap of only 7 points (20-13) neither...

    Ducati WSBK penalised 250 rpm

As expected, the V4R has had a rev limit reduction of 250rpm.. Doubt it will make much difference but might stop others complaining.. From BikeSportNews.. Aruba Ducati have been penalised for their runaway WorldSBK success with a drop of 250rpm on the Panigale V4R's rev limit at...

    7000 RPM Sputter

It didn't matter what gear I was in, but as soon as I hit 7000 RPM, the bike would start to sputter. There was no error message on the dash and no EOBD indication. However, on two separate occasions while testing, MelcoDiag captured a P0001 error code (Fuel Volume Regulator Control Circuit...

Minimum RPM before lugging the engine

The V4 is my first Ducati, I previously rode Hondas with inline 4 engines. 4K seems to be the lowest RPM before lugging the engine, but I'm still somewhat unfamiliar to V engines on bikes. Ducati recommends not exceeding 6K during break-in, which leaves a 4-6K range at the moment...

1199 track bike - Stutter at 5000 rpm

Okay, so I searched the forum and looked through 49 pages of threads in this topic but could not find what I sure to have seen already. So apologies for the repeated thread - link to the previous one on the topic is welcome. Friend is prepping a very clean 1199 Base that only had 1 previous...

    Engine break-in RPM

Doing some light reading of the Panigale V4 owners manual, pages 260-261 instructs not to rev above 6000 rpm for the first 1000km, and not above 7000 rpm till 2500km. This seems a bit excessive given the 1299 owners manual has identical break-in instructions, yet has a motor that redlines at...

1199S loosing power at high RPM

1199S losing power at high RPM Hi! I have a 1199S 2013 with Termi slipon. Mapped by Hypertrick. Mileage around 5000 km, only on the track. All of a sudden the engine is not producing power on high RPM. Not all the time and not at the same RPM. I've checked and cleaned the injectors, no...

    Rpm warning lights

Hey, I'm new to the forum and the world of Ducati. Had a question about the RPM warning lights on my 2013 1199. When the bike is cold the rpm's 8 and up are in yellow. Once the bike warms up only 11 and 12 are yellow. I assume this is normal but can't find the answer. Sorry if the question...

    Stumble at 5000 RPM

I rode into work today and noticed a fairly significant stumble exactly at 5000 RPM. It happened when I was cruising about 70 mph and slowly rolled on the gas (maybe 15% to 20% throttle). As soon as I touch 5000 RPM it starts to buck. I pulled in the clutch and rev'd it and again it stumbles and...

Question for R owners on 6-7500rpm vibration feel

I know these things are hard to describe as its a personal feel, but my r almost feels "......" in the 6-7k range. I know this isn't the sweet spot or where the bike is happy but mine seems "buzzy" through the bars and almost a vibration feel.It seems to come out of it at higher revs but i dont...

    5.5k rpm snatchiness

1199 engine misfire at 7,000 rpm

Hi, at air temperatures below 15°C (below 70°F) my 1199 has reproduced at almost exactly 7,000 rpm and full throttle always a short misfire and somehow less torque in the range of 6,000 to 7,500 rpm. If I do open the gas only to almost full throttle, the engine runs fully normal! And over...

    Cruising RPM

What is the suggested or perhaps your preferred rpm for cruising? I enjoy running through the rev range as I am breaking in the bike. It's my first Duc so any info helps.

    Update:Panigale backfiring..

Since I had an issue on July 20th, I brought it to the dealer shop. They told me that the start motor went bad and replaced it under warranty. That's cool. Also the fluctuating rpm was settled which happened with backfire noise (it's really loud). I picked up my Panigale and rode about 15...

    Riding Style and RPM's

I've got what may be the dumbest question out there and it may or may not be a personal preference kind of thing but I'm going to ask anyways. In my younger days I rode an Interceptor 500 and then a Ninja 750 (late 80's, early 90's)...I rode them hard and fast a lot. That being said I don't...
