HI Guys,
I'm creating a tech tips sticky. I know a lot of content has already been posted but perhaps we can start putting some of that here.

Perhaps we can even move some of the existing content here in the form of links to other threads?

Just a thought

Here's a link to Phil's exc. info which contains lots of tips on different mechanical/tech items.

Hey guys.

Can someone post a link to (at add) the quick-disconnects for the gas tank vent lines?

Thank you.

I am nervous about removing the fairings to install sliders and a slip on. Is there any link shows where all the clips and bolts are to the fairings so I will not break anything while removing fairings?

It's in the manual and there are a few videos on YouTube.

By far the easiest fairing removal on any sport bike I've owned. Nothing to be nervous about.

The headlight (main dash/windscreen) fairing is kind of a pain, but once you've done it a few times it isn't bad. I'm to the point that the mirrors don't even bother me anymore.

Can someone post the How to on the DP Rearsets. Adding the original instructions in PDF would be awesome also.

Thank you !

There are a few plastic hooks and holes that can break easy if you don't know where they are.

The main ones when removing the main side fairings are on the intake covers. Remove the cover for the ignition and remove the intake covers first before the main fairings. You have to slide (and slightly bend) these plastic covers to undo the hooks.

The main fairings slide forward. Pay attention to the plastic hooks where the ECU is (and its opposite side).

Remember, slide and not pull =-)

Agreed.

NO PULLING OR YANKING AT THESE FAIRINGS.

Gently slide them back and forward a bit until you can get a good feel for what's underneath.
After undoing all the screws(3 mm and 4 mm Allen heads) and the clips that are above the front guard.
There's only hook type interlocking tabs that slide together which are holding the fairing pieces together at the joints. They slide about 7 mm to unhook from each other.

Be gentle and patient when you get to this stage and stop and look if in doubt before you break them.
