What are everyones thoughts on the 'NEW' 2020 V4's

Not a whole lot of discussion currently regarding the updates, maybe there wont be as it appears to be primarily aesthetic changes with some chassis/electronics tweaks. Either way I thought I'd start a thread where people can compile their thoughts and opinions.

Personally, Im not a fan but more importantly, I'm a little perplexed. Side note...I admittedly wasn't drawn toward the V4r either as I felt winglets on a street bike are a little "speed racer." Also, the lateral venting of the side fairings increased the machine width by over 3 inches, which seemed counterintuitive when one of the V4's primary design objectives was to make it as thin as possible. No offense to those who purchased one.

From a business perspective, I find it interesting they would effectively rob the V4r of its character traits, while simultaneously minimizing the visual gap between the V4's various tiers. I don't have any empirical data to back this up, but let's take some observational leaps here. The V4r sales likely amount to a small portion of the Panigale line. The predominant market for this product line is the street, despite what their marketing would have you believe. I realize there are a lot of talented riders out there, but we take pride in that talent because we are the minority. The typical Starbucks rider doesn't care what a machine is capable of, they simply want to look the part. The remaining Panigale demographic likely appreciates the racing heritage, but I would assume they're like me in desiring a little more subdued design. Otherwise, Ive heard Suzuki makes some schweeet graphics.

So coming full circle, would you not limit your flagship V4R sales by making every other Panigale visually identical? And worse, reduce sales of the entire Panigale line by applying the "elite" aesthetic to every tier, when it's original appeal was only intended for the few wanting the absolute pinnacle of motorcycling tech.

The only thing that I don't love, is that I can't convince myself to sell my 2019 bike, for one of the new ones

Also love the new v2 single sided swing arm, if it was a 4 cilinder engine, it would be my dream bike

My 2 " minor " cents:
first thing should be riding it properly on track to compare the changes.
Surely,on the street riding,it will be more difficult to understand.

Now let's get to the bike.
1 EVO 2 can be loaded on the ECU of previous V4(so no improvement)
2 fairings(same as above)but on the track they are worthy.
3 frame redesigned could be the real deal.
The V4R that I rode few months ago,was better than mine,but it could be due to the suspensions set-up as well.

Final verdict
I WANT TO TRY IT ASAP :)

I am happy to see the upgrade and plan to get one, while lots of 2018/19 V4/s/r owner are pissed off.

I believe many of us here agree that buying a Ducati is more like an emotional decision than a rational decision.

The 2018 V4/s doesn't make me feel I want to trade my already brilliant and sexy 1299s which I cannot fully utilise, especially I indeed dislike the side fairings joint the tank with the silver front frame exposed in the middle.
HOWEVER when the 2019 V4R was released it was a love at first sight. I dont need the wings, but I want it. I cant feel the difference of the modified front frame, but I like it. Its just that I am not able to afford it.

I knew the R frame and wings would definitely be equipped on the facelift V4/s but i was expecting to see it on 2021 given the product cycle of 1x99 is 3 years.
I think those riders who are fast enough to enjoy the R version spec and can afford the R should already buy it.

There is only minimal additional cost, and they raise the price to transfer to customers, for Ducati to put those wings and fairings and frame and electronics to the base or S because all these are already finished stuff, while there are many slower riders like me out there would love to step in for the V4 generation.

2019 V4R - great bike !

2020, will be even better...new and improved is that for a reason...no ?

Ducati is just doing what they have been doing for years (lucky for us), giving us more of what we want - plain and simple

The trickle down effect to the Base and S models is nothing new - the marketing side of it (?) i'd leave for Madison Avenue to figure out....as for me...just give me the key :)

They went the wrong way for me. I wanted a V4R without the wings.

I thought the Fogarty was going to be a V4R without the wings and I called to put in a deposit and then it was a V4S so I opted out.

I get the winglets on the street fighter and they work but I want a wingless option for the V4R. Now that they're slapping wings on everything, it looks like they going further and further away from what it would take for me to buy a new bike.

Not a fan of the wings for the street but I get it and it wouldn't stop me from buying one. A lot of riders do track their bikes (base/S models) where it will benefit the most. I am pretty impressed with the amount of down force it creates at various speeds. Would of been nice if they would of somehow designed it so it can be easily removed/install with some sort of blank off like the mirrors.
