Doing more track days this year... So input would be interesting I currently have a 2 Piece....:)

for touring i love a 2 piece.

on the track i feel better in a 1-piece.

did someone say bathroom?

since track/race- orgs allow 2-piece suits, i don't see an issue with safety, but the zipper and the cover and all additional layers of leather remove a bit of flexibility in that area and bulk up a bit.

that said, i street ride my 1-piece also.

I've used a custom vanson two piece for 14 years (off and on) worth of track days including two get-offs. It still looks new in most regards. It was fitted as if a race suit, so worked well on the track. Only this year am I getting a new one piece suit made.

I think it depends on what kind of two piece you are using. Compare what you have in person to typical high quality 1 piece suits, and then make an honest assessment for yourself whether you think it offers adequate protection for your body.

May be implicit, but if your jacket has a built in back protector, you should also consider yanking that in favor of one with better coverage (eg longer to protect your tailbone). Chest protectors are also a good idea, and I see a lot more folks using them at the track

Have fun!

Everyone I know who regularly does track days that started with a 2-piece, ends up buying a 1-piece. Including myself. Careful on sizing though. Most 1 piece suits fit a little smaller than the 2-piece.

I currently have a two piece Dainese and use a full stand alone back protector as required for track days here. It's worked great and did save me a bunch of money for a multi purpose street/track suit. I'll probably look into a a one piece myself for next year...

I started with a two piece Joe Rocket Blaster suit with no knee pucks. After two years, I upgraded to a cheaply made MotoGP kangaroo one piece. Next, was the Alpinestars MX-1 suit which is built like a fortress. I feel like Iron Man in this suit! This year, I decided to stay with Alpinestars and went with their GP Tech Kangaroo 1 piece suit. I prefer a one piece suit on the track but if your track day organization allows two piece suits and you only want one suit for street and track - a two piece with full zipper will do nicely

i have a Dainese one piece and am in the process of buying the same model a two piece...

if you buy a 2 piece suit they are designed that way, that is to be worn as a suit, if you go down the line of a jacket & pants that can be zipped together they will fit feel a bit different....that's the story with Dainese anyhow.

i like one pieces but got sick of having to getting the top off between rides.

Def go 1 piece and along with the armor and venting, I recommend getting one with a removable liner. I used Under Armour long sleeve and leggings which makes getting out of the suit on a hot day a lot easier.

I'm a fan of Spidi and owned 3 of them so far.

1 piece for track or spirited street riding. 2 piece for posing at Starbucks :D

I think I replied to a similar post from b9009b recently. I haven't ridden the street in 5 years now. When I did, initially had a 2 piece RS Taichi suit. Thought it was amazing, still thought it was amazing when I started doing trackdays. Then I got a 1 piece suit and never put the 2 piece on again.

That said, if you have a 2 piece already that you are comfortable with, I wouldn't stress about it. However, I echo jmparton's comment about everyone I know who started track with a 2 piece. They all eventually got 1 pieces. Just feels lighter and easier to move around on the bike.

I used to be a 2 piece guy until I started getting serious at the track, since then I've been a one piece for track or road rides in the hills. Jacket and draggin jeans for commuting. I always wear a back protector for ALL riding.

Check with your track for requirements. Two piece is more for convenience, one piece more for protection.
If you opt for two piece, make sure it has a no less than a 360 degree zipper and not the Dainese type zipper.

What's wrong with the Dainese zipper? I haven't had an issue with mine but maybe I'm missing something?

The feel of 1 piece is a lot better and it allows you to move a lot more fluid on the bike. I didn't believe that before so I used two piece for years. But I tried one piece three years back and would not go back to two piece. A bit annoying to piss though

Had to replace mine on the jacket and a buddy had his separate while we were doing 150 mph....scared the .... out of him.

Damn! That would freak you out at 150! I'll keep an eye on mine...no problems yet...knock on keyboard
