Just picked up my 2013 1199S from Seacoast and wanted to give you guys the 411, and dispel some of the rumors going around.

First let me just say Kyle and the folks at Seacoast really took of me, repairing anything even moderately suspect under warranty. This included:

Gear position sensor (engine cutting-out)
Water pump gears (yellowed)
Muffler jacket bushings (rattling)
Rear pipe heat shield (cracked)
Right horizontal exhaust pipe
Right lower fairing (melted)
Clutch cover re-seal (leaking)

The valves were within the required specifications and did not need adjustment. Labor and parts were just under $1400...10 hours labor.

Front valve check / adjustment does not require disassembly of the front steering assembly et al. Front rockers/valves and spark plug may be accessed by removing side fairings and front radiators (as a unit). That's it. The rear valves are accessed by removing the seat, tank, and seat stay. Headers are removed to access oil pan / mesh filter.

I'll post the valve check report when received.

I put the 15k on in about 16 months and was the first in this Boston area to have this service.

Wow. 16 months? At my pace, being that I have 3800 miles after 28 months of ownership, I'll need that service in 6yrs. I need to ride this model some more.

Well, i have an 8yr old. Single parent who has his son on the weekends. I miss out on weekend rides. I ride it to work mostly but that's a 5-6 mile roundtrip. Don't have the chance to ride much as I'd like.

I'm in the Boston area too...I'd say lets go for a ride but my 1199 is track only now...so unless you want to take a couple laps around NHMS.... 3:)
