Hi all.

Anyone was replacing fork legs on 1199? I have checked the Ducati workshop manual and based on that seems that is impossible to replace legs in garage conditions???

It requires 0.1 mm accuracy (see attached pic). So, I don't know which tools I should use to get same accuracy...

Who can advise or share own experience?

You can get a lot of accuracy by measuring how far the top cap is above the top triple clamp. If you are within a mm, you will be fine. Sounds scary, but really isn't. Just follow factory torque settings.

I have one bit of advice to add: throw your axle in place and make sure it spins freely. That's as aligned as it needs to be.

One more question.

In the pic you can see that I should use Grease B. Is it necessary? Can I use Loctite Lock or must use Grease based on molybdenum?

If you use some kind of glue instead of grease, Бугимен is coming to you. At night. During winter. In the rain.

haha

bearacer What will happen? I think you need to consider your ability to do your own involved work after that question. This is a powerful superbike that needs to be carefully maintained, don't take it too lightly.

Ha Ha and LoL - is this your answer on my question?

Okay, the holes of upper triple clamp & handlebars clips require the Grease B but same place a steering damper requires a glue.

Dear Sir, could you explain why these two holes placed too closeto each other require different liquid? A?

Did you read my question careful? I think no.

I do not use a grease instead of glue. I am asking why I need to use the Grease B instead of glue in the holes described above.
