1199 Misfiring badly when getting to normal temps

Wish I could post the video of the misfire as it would make it much easier. So cold start takes a bit but then is fine. (Compared my start time to others on YouTube and seems okay. When hot it can take a bit extra to turn on). No misfire. Bike rides perfectly all the way up to 180f then will start this debilitating misfire. At idol it will be either running completely on 1 cylinder or 2 intermittently. Then when throttle is applied to move from a light it will go straight into 1 cylinder firing only. It will continue like this for a few seconds then kick on to 2 cylinders and remain fine until I stop again and have to go through all that again. Then the issue will happen again. Only happens when the bike is hot 180f<. I was initially thinking it would be plugs but now considering it may be a fuel pump. Anyone had anything similar?

P.S. if there’s a good way to post the videos or send them I’d be more than happy to.

Thank you all in advance!!

I had a ZX10R which had the symptoms that you described.
I changed everything, plugs, leads, fuel pump. I started looking at the fuel injectors.
But it turned out to be a Power Comander fuel module going bad.

First step is seeing if any codes. If no sensors such as MAP sensor is bad then I'd look at removing EVAP charcoal canister system.

What is the history of the bike? Do bikes do fine with Denver altitude?

Bike refuses to throw a code even when it's misfiring. Map sensors could only be if it throws a code? Need to take the eval system off anyways, that would give me a reason to do it. Bike is new to me so unfortunately I'm unaware of what's been done in the past.

Can bikes be that sensitive to altitude?

Watching this thread---curious to see the outcome--my 2012 1199S had an issue with a bad MAP sensor but that wasn't so much a misfire as the inability to reach higher revs. Bike just wouldn't rev up normally. Replaced both MAP sensors and runs like new now!

Can have bad sensors without code. I would remove Evap first given that its a common cause of hard starts. Anything else you can mention can help even if you don't think it matters. Gear position sensor also common failure. Can cause idle issues because of ecu using wrong fueling map for neutral.

New map sensors are on the way. Will do that, and delete the evap system. Will update, thank you!

I would look into the MAP and 02 sensors. Control different behaviors (fuel maps) when cold versus hot + lower versus higher RPM's so would explain your symptoms....
