I am pulling my hair out with something simple. I have installed two 1199 exhaust with old style heat guard, new over sized one can't find bolts for frame. The instructions direct me to use the original 2 bolts plus 2 new ones for installing the heat guard to sub frame, and I cannot find them. I don't think anything is installed on these 4 threads from factory. Any help would be appreciated. Also while on subject, would I do any damage to anything by ditching the metal heat guard. The heat never bothered me on my old 1199 S and that had just a carbon guard?

Good luck as I am dealing with same issue. It's a 5mm bolt and the Heat resistant washer and spacer is what I am having trouble with. Blows me away how big of task this has turned into. Try Mac Masters Carr online as I ordered Heat resistant washers today along with a spacer. They were $5 but they didn't make me by min 250 of ea item. Good luck! I ran OEM exhaust with smaller gloss CF Heat shield with no problem but my full Termi system has signs of melting around bolt that doesn't have correct washer.

The under seat carbon shield is M8x1.25p thread, I lost my original through vibration just made a set from metric fender 2 x M8 washers per fastener with fibre washer in between ie in the carbon heat shield holes, I had a universal euro bike pro-bolt fastener kit managed to find 4 x flanged head bolts 10mm head size so far working great until I get the OE step type

Just want to clarify info, OE R carbon shield has a black stamped thin sheet steel bracket which mounts between sub frame and the carbon shield thus bracket has M6 holes in it, because I have removed this is the reason I'm using M8 fasteners mounting the shield to sub frame. Ie pass peg mounting bracket holes
