Anyone checked the 1199 for speedo errors? I am in process of trading in 999 for 1199 Base w/abs and would like to know what to expect. The 999 has always been about 12% slow. When you do 70 mph down the road everyone goes by you like you are sitting still. Found out that 80 mph was really 70 mph.

Vehicle speed
The dashboard receives information about the actual
vehicle speed (calculated in km/h) and displays the
value increased by 5% and converted in the set unit
of measurement (mph or km/h).

In the UK it is illegal for a speedometer to under read. The "standard" (whatever that means) is an overage of around 8-10%.

Ergo the 1199 (in the UK at least) will read faster than actual.

Good thread and good information. At least I have a bit of a safety net, especially as there seems to have been an outbreak of new 50mph speed limits near where I live...a royal pain in the neck they are too, as the police are vigorously enforcing them.
