1199R Clutch Slave Leak

Hi,

My 2013 1199R is almost at 24,000 miles. I noticed that the clutch reservoir fluid level is coming down to the low over the span of 120 miles. I checked the clutch slave cylinder and there seems to be weepage or leaking from the bottom left slave allen bolt. Should I rebuild the slave or toss in an Oberon? It's so hard to get into neutral also when the bike is fully warmed up. The clutch lever does not feel good either.

It was a pretty common mod on the xx99 bikes to upgrade the slave. 11 years and 24K miles later, I'd say the OEM one has had a good run.

I have also read about the clutch rod control rod O-ring mod. It seems iffy based on numerous people. Some claim it stops the oil from going past the o rings. Some say it needs to be done precisely to even have an effect. Will be upgrading to the Oberon clutch slave. Let's hope I don't have oil seeping through as well.

If you do, you just need some liquid gasket sealer on the inside of the plate that the slave mounts to…

Mine was also leaking on the engine I bought. The piston inside was a bit corroded. The Oberon replacement is worth it on your hands alone haha

I have ordered the Oberon clutch. I do have a Honda Bond in the garage (rebuilding a spun-bearing BMW n55 motor :D) so will see if I have an oil leak. I bled the clutch at the slave side and got my neutral gear back but I could hear either air or the control rod pushing.
