I just had my R in for the first 1000 km service. Dropped it off at the shop and jumped back on with a new rear tire and service completed. There is a definite difference in seat of pants feel. It responds more immediately to throttle inputs, surges more at lover RPMs (3-5000 rpm range). I'm not complaining, but did not expect the bike to feel different after the service. Maybe the mapping is different pre and post first 1K service?

I'm sure its quite different over there but heard long ago the R was gonna cost much more to service. May I ask what the damage was in US dollar equivalent if you don't mind?

They didn't mess with the modes or change any settings? Not even sure what modes the "R" has vs the "S". I just know I feel a lot of difference if I am on 195 hi vs 195 low.

Settings were all the same pre and post service - just had to check at the nearest gas station. Service and new rear tire fitted was about 700 USD.

Not bad. Wonder what the BIG service with valves will set you back bro? You went w same rear Pirelli too correct? Did rear just wear faster than front since you didn't change that too?

Yeah.... I too am very curious about how you needed a tire replacement after just after 600 miles... ?

My R service was probably going to be around 270...but then had the Termis installed and a bunch of other items to get to almost 900.

My tri freed up nicely after 1st service, new oil, new rev limit, new cans(termi), new maps (term cans + Nov12 update) and flapper gone. Much more open and far LESS low end surging.

guys i paid about 110 usd for my first service the exhaust was already installed free.Im on 2750 kms and my tyre is still good as new.
there is a new map update after the first service, did they upgrade the mapping? The mapping makes a big difference. You shouldnt take the revs more than 7000 until you reach 2500 kms or 1553 miles. After i did 2500 the beast was releaved !!!!the engine sounds different and the ride is a bit smoother.

The reason for rear tire change this early was due to a puncture caused by a screw.

thanks for the info ymikkel.
I just got mine back from the first service as well.
I had them check out two issues while performing the service:
Hard to put the gear in N and experiencing a dead spot (it actually cuts out for a moment) when I was going to wide open throttle at around 8 to 8.5K rpm.
Bleeding the clutch master fixed one problem but I will have to wait until this weekend to see what's up with the other issue.
Termis and newest software installed.
Has anyone experienced similar problems?

Going wide open at 8-8,5K RPM may cause wheel spin and TC activation, happens to me with cold tires and damp conditions. What settings are you running? I have no issues getting N.

I just bled my clutch and it did wonders and my bike is brand new.

With the clutch released and in (N) I would get a lot of vibration through the bike.

After bleeding I have none.

Could be the case. I asked this question to a service manager up here back in early April and he said no difference with this R vs the other model Panigales. Previous R's yes, this one no. We'll see. Heading to NH next month for the first service.

What oil was put in at the service? At my first service the dealer filled her up with Motul oil and I noticed an instant change in the engine characteristics
