Downshift Problem

My S has 8500 Kim's on it with very few problems. But today it started having downshift issues. When I attempt to downshift the lever and linkage and shaft all move as normal but not gear change. When this problem occurs and I'm in first the lever will still move as if you were in a higher gear instead of being solid as it should when you're in first. If I keep clicking down it will eventually shift.... Any ideas?

Try cleaning out the clutch slave. Just remove the 3 allen bolts, and clean off the crud then reinstall.
 
Stating the obvious, but check all the bolts and linkage. Maybe just out of alignment.
 
Thanks guys, well here's an update. It appears when I change down gears, the lever is not fully returning so the internal rachet can lock in to make the next change. It's hard to tell where the restriction is, I've lubed all external linkage joints and so far so good.
