Have been pondering purchasing the comfort seat for quite some time. Was on the fence due to the cost of the seat vs. the POSSIBLE reward of any additional comfort. After my bum going numb and legs cramping up on a recent ride I decided to purchase one.

I am happy with the purchase. I don’t find it to be a softer seat, however it appears to be designed in a different fashion; which allows more riding comfort. The seat is a little thicker than the stock seat and does not angle the rider forward/down toward the fuel tank. It also appears to release the pressure, cause by sitting on the regular seat, hence creating more comfort. The comfort seat is also more tacky, so if you’re used to sliding yourself around on the stock seat, that won’t be as easy on the comfort seat.

The only thing I’d do differently is look on the forum for a preowned seat first. I purchased mine through a dealer. The dealer was great, butI found many less expensive options after I made the purchase.

Ride on the comfort seat for a couple months and switch back. Bet you describe the comfort seat with a little bit more detail.

Basically it moulds to your shape after a while, also 1000k days are not limited by butt ache

Comfort seat on my 1299 was first mod I did...The stock seat was brutal on my spine. After the test ride I took before ordering mine, I knew that the stock seat had to go.

The stock seat is cruel and only for people with an ... of iron who switch positions every 10 seconds.

I've done 680-mile days on my stock seat, but am interested to see what a CS can do. Your comment about the angle making it pitch you forward less has me really wanting to try one. Oh... if you think the stock seat is bad on the 1299, you should've tried the 1199's seat! After I test rode a 1299 I actually bought a stock 1299 seat for my 1199 and it made a world of difference.

Had the 1199S and it was linear to what I was experiencing with the 1299S. Happy with the comfort seat decision.

Also, my balls and girlfriend also thank the comfort seat. The stock seat was so slippery every time I hit the brakes I’d slide forward. It was like getting kicked in the balls every ride.

Honestly this was a huge issue because the tank is too narrow to grip, so when I hit the brakes I’d have to use my arms or balls to steady me. It’s hard to turn with stiff arms trying while I’m trying to save my balls. This is how bad the stock seat is.

I wonder if we would feel the width difference with a set of Stompgrip pads on the tank. Had them on previous bikes, but not fitted to my Pani.

The tank is narrow and harder to grip with your knees, but some kind of grippy tank pads and non sliding seat will prevent you from shifting forward. It’s a night and day difference.

I have clear StompGrips on my tank, with Comfort Seat, and it is surely better than stock.
