I recently purchased a new 1299 S. My question is this. Since there are just a few products being marketed for the new updated 2015 Panigale. I am assuming that there are some differences between the 1199 and the 1299

Will the exhaust slip ons from last years 1199 retrofit on the 1299? I read somewhere that the 1299 has gone to a 60mm pipe. I think the 1199 had a smaller diameter pipe. Somewhere around 57mm. Are the outlet diameters mod the pipes where the slip ons attach the same on the 1199 as the 1299? If not then it appears that the termignoni slip ons from last years model would not fit. Correct?

The slipons from an 1199 will not fit the 1299 header pipes. Full 1199 exhaust systems from Akra Evo and Termignoni will fit the 1299 though.

fcking A, that is awesome!

i much prefer the look of the termis to the akra! well... maybe just the sticker :D

Thanks I was thinking that the full system is just too much hassle since it requires a different heat shield (that looks smaller) and will be hotter on the street) * I heard that the horsepower gain on the full system is only about 2 to 3 HP at the top end anyway.
I primarily want to just get rid of the catalytic converters and open it up some.. **All my previous bikes ran cooler without the cats but this is my first Duc. My 2011 Kawasaki ZX10R just needed a link pipe and slip on (and it really freed up the flow and it also ran cooler...) Nowadays the factory exhaust headers are pretty good to begin with and flow well on most supersport bikes. IN the old days you could expect a lot more gain in H/P but now it is not that much difference to rationalize spending all that extra $$$.
It is really hard to rationalize spending $4K to $5K for an exhaust."Even on a Ducati" for me.. (Especially on a primarily street ridden bike).

I am not going to get this one on the track till I get some more butt time in the seat and get used to it.. It requires a totally different riding style than the Jap four cylinders I have ridden all these years..
Besides I need to wait until they come out with a 1299 race body anyway..
It is a bummer to get a brand new model and find that no one makes aftermarket parts for it yet.. I went through the same thing back in 2011 with the new generation 4 ZX 10R. Eventually aftermarket companies will come around and make race bodies and exhausts etc...
