I took the 1299 out for a test yesterday, and amongst the things I noticed was the power of the front brake. I use standard levers on my 1199, but the brakes definitely felt more powerful on the 1299.

Have mine suffered fade or what's going on, think they are still M50 calipers from what I've read??

How many miles on your bike?

Brake fade is a heat induced issue, not really one of wear per se.

I would suggest bleeding the front brake.. the front brake on the 1199 is about as good as you will ever get (stock) and hasn't changed in the 1299....

Only 2k miles on mine, not a complaint, I thought my brakes were insanely powerful, the 1299 just seemed to have a stronger initial bite.

After bleeding the brakes. If you need more initial bite, you can try different pads. I know some EBC pads bite harder than others. Maybe also consider fresh brake fluid.

Also check the lever position setting. That can do a lot.

It could just be down to Ducati spec'ing out a different brake pad for the 1299?

Did 280 miles on my new 1299 yesterday and I also thought the brakes where more powerful more bite compared to my old 11 , further more the whole new package is leagues ahead of the old bike , to say I'am happy is an understatement the 12 is feckin EPIC

I'm going to need at least a three page essay on exactly how EPIC it is; please be specific and include as many photos as you can. I want facts, figures, your emotions and whether you snuggled with the bike, the first few nights you had it... :D

I agree, and I only had a 60 mile test ride!! Within a few miles I knew I was on a different bike altogether!! 2 weeks till mine hits the shores here

I am still waiting. This is crap! I did get to see b9009b's 1199 up close. That will have to hold me over! I will say that the oem exhaust was quite loud for a stocker with cats!

I love reading this... Can't wait to get my hands (and butt and feet and chest on the tank) on mine.

There are precious few posts from people talking about there first impressions of owning a 12, must all be out riding or relaxing in the after glow!!
