Kramer Joe or Jenson told you that that the Kramer is better thats shocking...
Look I love what Kramer is doing but they're not an OEM level operation, they finesse KTM packages into trackday / race bikes which until now KTM did not participate in in road racing. The new KTM is a better package due to the resources that were put into it, because it's a ground up design not a riff of a riff which is what your bike is.
You are 100% inaccurate there. Suprising because that’s not normally so with you.
The Kramer, and the RC 8C that Kramer built for KTM in their OEM factory absolutely have OEM quality.
But the main thing you are wrong about is saying that they finesse KTM packages into track bikes. Couldn’t be farther from the truth. They use a KTM engine, nothing else, and do a ground up design build of a track bike, and then build it in their own factory. It’s nearly 100% a Kramer design build from the ground up.
What you are saying would be like saying the new Bimoto is a Kawasaki ‘finessed’ into a track package. No, it’s not, it’s a ground up new design and build using a Kawasaki engine.
The new KTM 890R is what you are describing, it’s a street bike that’s being finessed into a track bike and then built in China, using a lot of the technology and bits from their street bike parts bin.
And i can tell you this from personal experience, Kramer is 180 degree difference to deal with in supporting their bikes than KTM, who provide less than zero support on their track bikes including simple maintenance.
Whether you agree with those facts or not, the math of the 890R is what it is. The bike is 80 pounds heavier, has 10 less horsepower, has a standard street gas tank and frame homologation, and lower end parts bin suspension and braking components than the Kramer built bikes, and instead of contracting out the build of the bike to an extremely well equipped Austrian factory (Kramer) they contracted out the manufacturing of the bike to China, because it’s a profit making bike for the masses not a HALO bike with KTM’s best foot forward.
Also Joe didn’t hate on the bike, he simply said i would be disappointed after having the bike i have, because the new KTM 80 to 100 pounds heavier with less horsepower and lower end components for about the same price as the one i have.
The bike is a step backwards, and is intended to be, because it’s a street bike for the masses that can be finessed to ‘work’ on track.
