1299 Ignition Module Removal

I recently lost the only key that was provided when I bought the bike. I bought a new set through D.P.U. and got it today. My issue is that I cant get the old module separated from the frame. It seems like it should just slide up based on the new module I'm looking at. Is there a trick to this?

the bolts that hold it in have perm. Loctite on them, its a real ..... and a half to get out. youll have to use some vice grips and force them, then get replacement bolts if your new unit didnt come with it

They didn't come with.... Bummer.

With the 1299 you may be able to have the dealer recode keys for you. The "RED" key wasn't provided with that bike, and to my understanding the dealer can get all the info off the computer. I don't believe you need to have the bike on, but best to reach out to your nearest technician. Good luck.
