Thought it would be good to have an on bike video footage thread!
I'll start:
Was at Cadwell on Monday just gone (17th) on an evening and got a bit of footage with my £38 sj6000 go pro copy :D 1080p
No quick times (low 1.40s) I'm afraid as this was the 4th session and my racetec k2 rear was shredded (was its 2nd track day and it's done some road miles too!) Still not too bad for a busy track on shiny 6 week old bike!
Footage is mainly of chasing my mate on a Beemer s1000rr, first time using the camera and unfortunately the camera had dropped a bit so not quite the perfect view.
Was having a few issues getting the power down on corner exit and tcs was earning its keep! Was making bit of it up on corner entry. Few riders out there a bit steadier than me so never got a full clear lap.
Top speed I hit was about 175mph.
Lean angle? I'll just say 50+ ;)
Settings:
Ebc 2, tcs2 (normally 1 but tyre totally shot), dwc off, abs1, des - fixed.
Bike is stock with exhaust valve disconnected and valve lock wired open)
Bike running a little hot which I think the Evo tech rad guards don't help so may remove them for my next track day.

This is the tyre after the track day, it's a mainly right hand corners so right side was worn past the wear bar! Not good really as the tyre had long given up its best grip! Started shredding the left side too.

Great stuff, but those temps seem worryingly high to me.. My local track is a furnace usually, so I wonder how I'll fare in September when I do my first two trackdays on the 1299?

Cheers.

Looks like you have some suspension issues on the left side bro.

Yeah not quite sure at the moment!?
Was running 26psi hot. Racetec RR K2
This is the same tyre at its first track evening (the smoothing in the middle is from riding home on the road) was a few seconds a lap quicker here.
New generation tyres are amazing but wear quicker! :(

I'm going to take off the Evo tech rad guards next time as I think they really do restrict airflow over the rads

I didn't realize it until 2:00 minutes in, but I was craning my neck the whole time to try and see more of the track haha.

Angle that puppy up!

Also, your suspension has to be off if your tires look like that. Or you are superrrrrrr choppy with the throttle out of the corners, which it didn't seem so in the video.

Yes, suspension is a bit out! I have used the settings in suspension sticky here as a base and added a touch more from comp and rebound iirc.
Although I am quite aggressive I had backed off a bit, The tyre was ok for the first track evening (left side) but on the second one were this cam footage was taken it was just totally used up.

Nice footage! That track sure is narrow! Not much runoff either (and then you have to deal with the Armco if you do run off) You also have to be real careful when you try to pass them.. :D

I'm from Texas so I guess I am spoiled.. Some of our city streets are wider that some of that track's turns.. Looks like a very nice track though and the surface looks great..!
One thing about riding on a narrow track is you have to learn your lines well or else! I noticed several turns you were trailing the brake into the turns and it looked like the front started to tuck a little..?
Have you tried the bike in the Sport mode with the ABS set to 2 or 3 ?
It is supposed to stop any front end tucks while on the brakes in a cornering situation. I would never have the balls to try in intentionally LOL....

I always run mine in RACE mode so I have never had the opportunity on a track yet to experience the new ABS system with the IMU (Intertia Measurement Unit) kicking in to stop a front end tuck while cornering on the brakes.
*That feature will not work on the bike when in the Race mode according to the specs..

Thanks, appreciate the comments! :)
Cadwell Park is a narrow track but BSB (British Superbikes) race here!
It's known as a mini Nurburgring and if you search YouTube you will find plenty of footage of some of the British Superbike pro riders jumping the mountain! EVERYONE loves the mountain at Cadwell! ;)
The track itself is very tricky and takes a fair bit time to learn! Your right there is not much run off in places! :( but it's what makes it a special place to ride.
I do intentionally trail brake (usually the 'gooseneck' double apex corner) and I can feel what the front is doing. The bike was moving a LOT here as the tyres were way past there best! I normally use tcs1 and tbh I wish I still was but as still dialling myself into the bike I was being a little cautious! I don't mind sliding the bike around but doesn't help you get a fast lap normally. Only used race mode on track with des set to fixed, tried des on but it feels less 'taught' for want of a better word. Sport is for bumpy roads only IMHO.

Nice footage Tom! :)
Nice and clear, is that with a go pro?
What bike you riding?
I mounted my cam on the headstock:

Yeah it's a gopro on a 1299. I was trying to put it on the head stock but couldn't get it on with the fixings I've got, il have to get a clamp/bracket like you've shown.

That does give a good view, but for what ever reason, the Trackday company don't let you have cameras on your tank

If I understand Ducati's electronics correctly, things being disabled is not mode dependent, they're setting dependent. For example, rear ABS is "disabled" in Enduro mode on my Multistrada. But I reset the parameters to turn it into a "wet" mode with ABS set to 3, and lo and behold, rear ABS works.

I have ABS set to 2 in both my Race and Sport modes, so I'd expect the Cornering ABS to be fully operational in either mode.
