1299 "r"?

If you are not fast enough to win without cheating, then you shouldn't worry about winning.

Signed, the slow guy on the track.

The NOS trick is a club racing legend. I've heard several stories of people trying it, but never seen it happen. The main issue is hiding the bottle and plumbing. Plus it's super obvious to spot the acceleration difference and file a protest.

People have been nabbed in quite a few clubs running 750 motors in a GSXR600 chassis.

Legend or Myth ? HP does not win races in club racing .

Probably should have said "Myth". I've heard tons of people claim that they saw it happen and people got caught. But I've never witnessed it and don't think it would be worth the hassle personally.

which leads me to wonder, at some point I'll bet someone on an 1199 will line up on the grid with a 1299 motor....

750 makes more power and grunt than the 600. People wouldn't have gone through the trouble, if they didn't think the extra power would have helped.

I agree, at the club level, rider skill truly dominates. But it's racing. Ever since the first motor race, people have been trying to think of ways around the rules as much as working hard to win cleanly.

So, cheating aside - the charcoal canister ports on the throttle bodies could be used for a place to inject nitrous, if someone were to build a drag Panigale. Nitrous is legal in drag racing, depending on class.

Someone built a twin turbo drag 999; it's plainly clear that there are people crazy enough to build pretty much anything...

FWIW, none of the people doing the 750 thing even finished on the podium the times I've seen verified instances of it. Not even close actually.

Regarding the 1299. Again, not likely. In club racing the capacity limit for twins is usually something to the affect of "Unlimited OEM displacement", so it's not an issue to run a 1299 in any major org. They would get nabbed real fast in any Moto America action. No idea about overseas, but I suspect it's similar.

...

And there would be absolutely nothing wrong with that as the rules specify "unlimited OEM displacement".

Do you even race?
