Yeah but it's HP4 Race is not street legal. Big difference there.
Good point! Pop the lights and street crap off then let's see.

it be a hard to choose, if I had to pick one...I honestly think I may lean towards HP4 Race.
But Ducati can still one up BMW. They haven't released a full track version yet. It's always a game of one upmanship.
now that will be cool. If Ducati bring out Track only with track goodies with reasonable price.
I said reasonable price...that most likely not be the case.![]()
Its going to interesting to see the PR genesis of the nextgen bike. They are as they should be hyping the release of the 1299SL as the premier, mother of all street legal SBs. At the same time they are working on its replacement which of course will get the exact same PR. Is the 1299SL the cat's meow until we can get our new bike out? Is the new bike a subdued offering despite having what one would expect is a next gen power plant or did you really just sell me a 100k bike, take my deposit and then tell me "oh, yea that new V4" Like I said, sales, marketing and psychology. Good ..... I get the "business" side of things but it may have been a nice gesture to say "hey guys, we have a new V4 super bike coming out soon however in the interim, were doing up a few special 1299s". Now I am sure there are a few guys out there who walked in with a brown bag full of Benjamins and will do the same when the new bike comes out. There are probably more guys who mortgaged the house or cashed in the 401 that are not in the same boat. May have been nice to have a choice.
You get your shifter sorted?
Hasn't arrived yet. Probably tomorrow. I'll work on it Sunday, thanks.
GP shift? What doing?
Awesome! Though I had a weird feeling the 167kg kerb weight that Ducati was talking about was overexaggerated. That rating is WITHOUT fuel, and as MCN has stated, its 178kg with a full tank. Would mean the BMW HP4 Race is lighter, with them claiming 171kg fuelled... assuming they mean a full tank!
Its the statements like this from MCN that make them lack any credibility at all.
"Ducati claims 156kg dry, but it's actually 167kg wet, with no fuel and 178kg with its 17-litre tank full to the brim."
Since when does 17 ltrs of fuel = 11kg? The normally recognised relative density
of pump fuel would put it at just under 13kg.
I grew up reading MCN and still get it every week in digital copy, but the way
that they dance to the manufacturer's tune has got comical over the last 10 yrs
or so. A large pinch of salt is required with every edition.![]()
