Hey Guys

Introduction post with request for information.

My name is Simon, from Western Australia. Been dirt bike riding for 25 years (since I was 10) and road bike riding since 17. Had many different bikes, most recently 5 R1s (upgraded every second year with new model release) since 2001 and most most recently, my 2014 Panigale R (I saw the light!).

I have just dropped my 2014 R back to the dealer and am awaiting delivery of a 2015 1299S, along with the full Akra Evo system and pretty much the DP catalogue of carbon parts. My reasoning was because with my 2014 R (which is predominantly a street bike) was splendid on country rides where I could stretch her legs and get her into the upper revs where she really came alive but I found less than inspiring down low in the revs (and in fact it is quite a pig in my opinion down low in the revs and does not like it) for city commuting, the occasional home to work or staying metro pleaasure rides which had more of your slow speed corners, point and squirt type riding, hence I thought the bigger displacement and much improved torque through the rev range of the 1299 (which will be amplified again by the EVO system) would fix.

This was a long deliberation process to go from the R to the S, after much reading of the S launch reviews and discussing in depth with my dealer as well as Ducati Australia (through the dealer) and I thought I had made my mind up..... UNTIL i started reading reviews of those of you lucky few who have started taking delivery of the 15 R's and comparing them to the 2014R (giving thumbs up - for example Mutt1979) and the SL (which I have not ridden).

The question I have (and if there is someone that has ridden a 13/14 R, a 1299 and the 15 R you would be a god send), is those of you who have ridden the 13/14R and now the 15R, can you please describe the difference in power delivery and torque that I am detecting is being alluded to in the reviews I have read on here over the last week.

If you have ridden the 1299 and the 15R, please give me your impressions of which is the better street bike, particularly for low speed/revs, second/third gear points and squirts as opposed to upper (say plus 9,000) RPM riding.

hope you can help.

Stay rubber down, Simon
