Gillo, school zones are everywhere here too. I have it in wet mode with the engine set at 195lo I use when going through all these suburban areas.

I have sport with 195hi that I simply change when I get to to riding roads. Mine is the s so it also changes suspension.

You will find the wet mode makes a doddle of these slow speeds, brilliant I say.

Haha right on man, lets ride sometime brotha

And also did you nice that the throttle is more even ? I mean like when I'm cruising 4th gear around 55mph I would feel that it would buck a little. Like hiccups. Now it's solid. Bro put it on Race mode and gun it. Makes me wonder why I could keep it under 7k this whole time lol

send me your info, i would love to ride some time, im at the way west end of the Valley, right by Mulholland

At first I was kinda disappointed of the non existent bottom end and keeping under 7k (was truly difficult) but after the awesome service dept @ pro Italia they informed me that there's a new map they needed to load. My first ride experience : wow this thing is a rocketship. Mind you I'm only 148 lbs. the idle is smoother , no more stalls , and the power is just incredible.

Just thought I'd share

taking it to PI for 1st service this Sat. hope to share the same experience. BST map you say

Yes, bsp or bst . PI will take care of ya bud. I paid less than 260 for the service so they were 100 less than anyone else I called. Not that cost was an issue but didn't want to get priced gouged.

Are you in Sport or race mode ?

Sport

A few on here are saying that 195Hi is smoother than 195Lo. I've had a play in Race mode and it was great, but that was before the first service and the Termis. Finding it harder to manage first gear throttle in low speed situations now (such as school zones or heavy traffic).

I know the bike is not designed for it, but it's a reality of my commute.

I haven't had time to play around with the different modes and the weather hasn't been good enough to leave it without the aids since the Termis have been put on. It's in Wet mode today after getting pissed on this morning and then again tonight. Didn't rain at all during the day when I was at work, of course!!

got my 1st service and recalls done today. whatever they did, definitely made the bike run better, 2rd 3rd 4th gear acceleration was smooth from 4k to 8k

The remap on first service seems to the the stuff of urban legend. As on this thread, lots of folks, including my dealer service people, seemed to be uncertain about whether a remap actually happens. Anxious to find out for myself, I picked up my bike Friday after the first service. In Sport mode I noticed no difference, but in Race mode it was definitely punchier, very fun. I also noticed that on first start at the dealer after the service the tach display showed an orange line at 8K, but after a few minutes that disappeared and changed to all black numbers with redline at 12K only. I thought that was only supposed to occur at 1000mi. Anyone else notice this?

I had a similar experience, the orange numbers started at 12K after the service, but within a 100 miles or so, it came back to 8K ( i think)

That's normal about the tach, it disappears after reaching 600 miles or if the dealer remaps it.

another thing i noticed, a puff of smoke when starting the bike at the dealership. I had smoke when the bike was new, but gone after 3 rides. hopefully that's the case after the service

No worries, Hogdog, this is normal during engine warmup. Check pg 48 of your manual.

Quote:

After the break-in period, the "orange area" indicates
and advises the rider to ride at lower revs when the
engine is cold; the "orange area" position changes
according to engine temperature as follows:
- from 8000 rpm with engine temperature lower
than or equal to 104 °F (40 °C)
- from 9000 rpm with engine temperature lower
than or equal to 122 °F (50 °C)
- from 10500 rpm with engine temperature lower
than or equal to 122 °F (50 °C)

Thanks Capnjack, that makes sense. For some reason I had thought we didn't get 'full liberty' to redline until 1000km. Regarding the remap, the dealer actually asked me to come back in after the service and tell them if I felt any difference, just so they had another data point. Part of what I love about this machine is that all these experienced Ducati owners are still figuring out its personality. So far, I love everything about it. Actually an easier ride than my 1100 EVO, which is saying something.
