The Ducati SuperSport 750 Sport is member of the SuperSport series of bikes, which received a facelift in the 1999 model year, courtesy of designer, Pierre Terblanche. The facelift design includes a new front fairing and side half-fairings. Fuel injection was also introduced in the 1999 model year.
I bought this 2002 Ducati SuperSport 750 Sport in 2003 from Bert’s Mega Mall in Covina, California. Power is from a 748cc 90° L-twin air/oil cooled engine with desmodromic valves and Marelli electronic fuel injection paired to a five-speed transmission and wet multiplate clutch. The engine produced 64 horsepower at 8,250 rpm when new. The bike is finished in matte black over a metallic grey trellis frame.
The bike is equipped with Brembo 3-spoke light alloy wheels (3.50” x 17” in front and 4.50” x 17” in rear). Additional suspension specifications include a single Brembo semi-floating 320mm diameter steel disc brake with a 30mm 4-piston caliper in the front and 245mm with a 2-piston caliper in the rear, Marzocchi 43 mm upside down front fork, and Sachs fully adjustable rear shocks.
Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, an 11k rpm tachometer, oil temperature gauge, and mechanical five-digit odometer showing approximately 2,437 miles. (Mileage will go up nominally as I turn it on and ride it around the block weekly to keep the bike operational.)
The bike was serviced by reputed Ducati technician, Scott Waters of Motoservizio in Signal Hill, California, in preparation for the sale. Specifically, Motservizio flushed, repaired, and sealed the fuel tank. Brake and clutch fluids were flushed and replaced. A new fuel pump, timing belts, and drive chain were also replaced using new original Ducati parts. New OEM NGK spark plugs were also installed, and the valves and throttle bodies were serviced. The bike wears new Michelin Pilot Power CT tires (120/70ZR-17 in front and 160/60ZR-17 in rear). It also has a Zero Gravity windscreen.
Two keys, original tool kit, owner’s manual, manufacturer’s brochure, Statement of Compliance from Ducati North America, service records from new, Haynes Service & Repair Manual, Ducati Universal Bike Cover, and Venom Sport Bike Motorcycle Front & Rear Combo Wheel Lift Stand are included in the sale. I hold clean California duplicate title. (The original title was lost while the bike was sitting for nearly 10 years in my indoor garage in Southern California.)
The bike needs absolutely nothing. It is a time capsule and ready to be admired and/or ridden.
The bike is being sold as-is, where-is. The bike is located in Cerritos, California.
