George,
The bank (USAA) holds the lien. Once the new buyer wants to buy the bike I work with them and send the check (or whatever form of payment) to USAA. There are many ways this can happen. I would speak with the buyer and USAA at the same time in a three way call to organize something. Once the lien is paid off in full a lien release letter gets sent to the new owner. The new owner has the current title and lien release letter and takes this to their MVA to get a clear title from their state under their name.

I think this is what you are asking.....if not I can clarify further.

The bank lien is not a problem. Seller pays for the bike, most of the Money goes to the bank to pay the lien, and bank issues a lien release.

I just sold my 1199 and had the buyer wire the $ directly to my bank. Fedexed the title and lien release to him yesterday and I'll deliver the bike on Sunday.

No biggie, but some level of trust is required.

You can also just go pick up the bike and pay a visit to the bank with the seller, pay the lien off and they will usually issue a lien release while you wait.

Yup exactly what he said! The only difference with my bank (USAA) is they are online so a direct wire to that account would work. If it makes anyone feel better for the trust issue, I carry a secret clearance, in the Deleware ANG and work for the DoD.......

Also, if it helps, the buyer can take the bike with a Bill of Sale. Thats how it is in FL anyways.

I would have the buyer pay for the bike, confirm funds, write up a bill of sale, then send the title to the buyer whenever it comes in.

That's how its done in FL anyways. Hope that helps.

Yup thats the plan. The only difference is here in the state of MD they issue us a title with our name and the name of the lein holder (if there is one). Then when the buyer hands over funds you hand them the title, bill of sale...and then when the lean release comes in the mail you send that that.

Bump to the top. Ive had one buyer come down yesterday and didnt offer enough money and another interested buyer coming Wednesday. A lot of activity on ebay and a lot of questions. Lets find this beautiful machine a new stable. :D

Sorry Truama.....looks like I have interested buyers lined up for Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Last chance people....

I believe the buyer saw it here on the forum. At least he mentioned the forum when he came to look at it.

On a side note....ill be back...maybe not in the near future....but ill be back in a while. Maybe back on a 999...or another Pani...:) Quick thanks to everyone here on the forum for all there help and information.
