Hi guys,

New to the forum and Ducuti, looking into buying a new 1199s and would really appreciate your input.

Other than ABS offered as standard equipment on the 2014 and not on the 2013, is there any other differences I should know about between the two years ?

Thanks in advance to all replies.

The seat has a grippier cover, equal to that of the '13 racing seat. In addition to the previously mentioned hazard light function, there is also an odometer back-up function. Very minimal.

Well there you go.

Thanks for enlightening us:)

See.
This forum is the go to resource for info on the 1199:):)
Where else on the net can you get so much knowledge????

I agree, a big thanks to all that replied.

Does anyone know if the prior year models can get the Hazzard functions installed?

I don't know anything for certain, but my two-cents says that it /ought/ to be possible. I can't see it being anything more than a firmware update, unless there's added hardware to the left-hand controls.

Maybe someone could toss it in as part of an ECU tune in the aftermarket area akin to cruise control?

A little more help guys, please.

How much should I be paying for a left over 13 ? it's an "S" with ABS option.

Dealer offered to sell me the bike for $21,995 out the door, what would be a reasonable offer from me ?

The hazard lights for one are there though.. you are right about that..

Are you sure about the odometer backup function?? Is this due to the fogging dash issue that people have had and to avoid having to deal with their new dash resetting their miles back to 0.

This is the first I've heard of the feature, but I can't think of it being there for any other reason. I'm sure Ducati didn't anticipate needing to replace dashes so often or they would've had that feature to begin with.

My dash started fogging up recently, but I'm not too worried about it. Certainly not enough to get the dash swapped and reset to odometer :-\.

(knocking on woood) Honestly guys, I have not had ANY of the problems with my Pani that I hear about on the boards. My negative experience is limited to a dogy turn sig. switch.

I do most of my own work and the bike is far from stock so I anticipated finding some of the common issues, but really, my ownership experience has been stellar.

I only have 3200 mi and its a '12 Tri so maybe they are in my future. However, at this time i could not be happier!
