The specs say that the Ohlins suspension is mechanical - meaning it has no on-the-fly or other electronic adjustment, it's just good old quality manually adjustable suspension? Is that everyone else's interpretation of the specs?

Correct. they probably ditched the electronic crap for less weight. I think the rules also say something about no automatic suspension adjustment in WSBK.

Suspension from the homologated street bike can be changed for WSBK. Less weight, and knowing that hardcore track riders/racers prefer manual suspension, were reasons that manual sus was chosen.

definitely agree with you....but even though i don't adjust them often, i got comfortable seeing the adjusters on the screen -- but they've gone and given us clutchless downshifting :)

That's what I figured, there are a couple of local racers that have removed the DDC suspension from their HP4. Given I race one track (and don't have a pit crew) that suits me fine.

Can't wait for this beauty, so excited about the prospect of racing a whole season on a Ducati having discounted it for so long..
