3 cracking bikes! Each doing it's own thing to go fast as fook. A decent watch.

It's blowing my mind the Japanese just disappeared off these 'best-of' line ups. I'm wondering if they just quit developing their ICE bikes to go crank on the next generation electric bikes.
The EU bikes are a spit in the ocean compared to Japan's dominating of the actual global market place though they are loosing ground. Add that Ducati is making 100% of the MotoE championships bikes. Wow.

Is it similar to the MCN comparo?

Interesting how different the videos are.
I appreciate the opening comments like, "when I tell you the prices, you can go ahead and tune off," & "they're all so irrelevant now... they've all got 200 & stupid HP..."
bringing it back down to Earth.
Seriously, when you say "the cheap one is $26,000." I mean, that's the price of a car. The Ducati is the price of a pretty nice Land Rover.
So when you look at the ...... welds, stickers and embarrassing lack of finish on the plastics, it's just not ok.
We're in a price range for all of them, that they should look like hand made jewelry.
The choice of aftermarket parts with CNC billet perfection and style is amazing, which is making me look at the sand cast rearsets on the OME Duc with ...... rough part-lines scratching my head, 'tf are they thinking?
You buy a car, you can adjust the seat. Why can't you adjust a damn thing on a bike without spending another €1000 on after market parts. That's ridiculous.
Mirrors made out of potato chips? What are they 400 to replace? hahaha
While the software is getting otherworldly, the hardware is not staying on the same level.

The thing is a cheap Hyundai is now $26k. Everything is getting more expensive. If you can find me a new LR for $26k, I’d jump on that.

Ducati is more the Ferrari of sports bikes and a Panigale V4 is like the F8 or SF90 which are $500+k. I think we’re still getting good value for performance.

The s1000rr and R1 both start ~$18k new. So does the rsv4, and it’s Italian.

Even before this inflation BS, these Ducati v4's have been getting out of control in pricing. I don't care if it's italian exotic or whatever. Bunch of the oem parts are cheap plastic stuff and other stuff is junk and yet a base v4 is basically ~25k otd now. I don't even need to mention the cost of aftermarket parts. The bmw seems to offer the best bang for the buck and even those are getting up there. The aprilia is just ugly. Personally, I don't care for all this power increase and software stuff. Simplify these modern bikes, reduce HP by 10-20% and reduce my overall cost about $8-$10k and I'm back in the game. I definitely won't be buying a brand new bike ever again...that much I can guarantee.

If you think these prices are outrageous wait until you see some exotic road bike prices. A Pinarello Dogma can cost you up to $15k and YOU have to provide the power. I mean I just dropped $8k putting together my gravel bike and have a mtb of similar value. Put you gotta pay to play.

Haven’t they always been expensive? I remember seeing the Foggy replica (original one) dripping in carbon and Ohlins and I’m sure it was something like £25K. None of the 916 were exactly cheap and apply inflation to those figures and I’m not sure it’s much different now?

I think Panis are pretty good value, if you want a bespoke bike with all your custom desires out of the box then you really need to cough up. Whats Steven spent on parts- he knows lol! No one is making you buy one but to be fair the overwhelming majority of new V4 buyers are people with a bit of wherewithal.
The days of cheap loans and rolling it over are bye byes unless you want to see your paycheck ..... by the loan company.

Agree re the Japanese, although there is talk of a new R1 (for some time), which if it receives the GYTR treatment, will be a weapon. Also talk of a "final" Fireblade. Suzuki has gone.. interesting to see if Kawasaki respond with a big update to get back on terms in WSB.

Ya, the Aprilia is €26k the Panigale SP2 is passed €40k. Ya I was guessing, but we're pretty close:

"DISCOVERY SPORT Starting at $44,600'"

I've thought about this, "Ducati is more the Ferrari..." its promise seems to be, hand made Italian etc. however we're a long long ways off that as a brand and quality build. That's my point. If they want to take the price in that direction, they need to give me adjustable rearsets stock with a polish that blows my .... away. Not sandcast parts with a design foreign the rest of the machine. Mirrors that were entirely afterthoughts and an embarrassing license plate holder. haha Most of it, is gorgeous and amazing. I just want better details for the brand promise and the price. It could be so much more with not that much more effort.
Is it worth it? I bought one and I love it enough to lick it. Still...

Someone is getting tired of paying the ducati tax…

Jaaa just joking Craig

I also get a bit tired, and want to go to the dark side of R1 or S1000RR, but that Italian keeps dragging me back.

By the way, Thanks on hooking me up with brad in MotionSBK, have been getting me some parts and some good deals.

You used the SP2 as your example - this includes very nice adjustable rearsets. :p

Ferrari's have .... build quality and poor reliability too. They just have the veneer of a fancy car. I'm sure it's improved over the years but... And cheesus don't even look at how much it costs to run them (service, insurance, financing, etc)

Servicing is taken care of for the first 7 years though, which is rather good. My Ducati came with a 4-year warranty, which I thought was quite good (no free servicing though).

VB the rearsets among other items are vacuum cast and are impressively strong and light. Just not adjustable,

Wow Ferrari is pulling a Hyundai and is now adding complimentary maintenance on new cars. I guess their reliability scores were so low they had to make a change.
