2022 V4S Ordering/Deposit?

A question for your peeps interested in purchasing the 22.

I contacted my dealer yesterday. He told me not to bother putting a deposit down. They have been advised by Ducati that orders will not be accepted until Mid February.
Fine by me. I'm located in the North East and we are getting cold up here now. I have a great relationship with the sales manager going back many years.

Anyone else experience this?

What country are you in Jim?

I was at a UK based Ducati dealership today, and talking about next year's bikes. They suggested that Ducati are changing the process, with bikes being customer order, rather than shop floor orders, and also that deliveries would be February-ish.

Customer order? Like we would build the bike on-line and it would arrive at the dealership?
That may affect pricing.

Ducati Austin took my money. 10% non refundable. V4 Base. They said that they were not getting any allocation unless pre ordered.
Great dealer and communication. Ducati USA accepted the order and gave me a delivery date of Feb 22'

Seems really odd they wouldn't get any allocations without an order; especially for a base V4. I thought Ducati has a habit of forcing dealers to keep inventory. Perhaps this is due to the ongoing supply chain issues?

Just call Ducati NY in soho they will tell you or call Bobby at HSBK Warhorse

10% non refundable???!!? That’s a scam.

My deposit here in the Bay Area for an S was $200 refundable.

As someone else said on here, these deposits are interest free loans.

I can't imagine Ducati isn't getting any bikes to dealers unless they have deposits.

$1000 fully refundable deposit here in Oz, arriving sometime in March....so they said!
