2025 Track Day Kit - Alpinestars, Rev'it Custom and RST 4.1

Trying to sort out a suit for 2025. I bought a Tech-Air 7x last year with the hope of being able to zip it into a new suit. But, I'm not a fan of the new releases at all. The one I hate the least is the GP-R7 in black. The white outlined sliders were an odd choice.

Has anyone tried it with a TA 7x who can comment on fit?



The GP Plus V4 is terrible. One looks stormtrooper and the other a road flare...for $1,800. I hoped for a new version of the Missile to come out, but the new suit in their MC 25 collection is the GP Plus V4...sadly.



Another option is getting a custom fit suit from Rev'it. They make options that fit the Tech-Air 5, Tech-Air 7x and Tech-Air 10. Pretty reasonably priced, at least for a full custom fitted race suit, $1,800, $2,400 and $3,000 respectively.

Another pretty compelling option is the RST. To go with this option, I'd sell my 7x.

RST, really In&Motion, hides some of the cost in a subscription service for the airbag so a $1,400 dollar suit is really more like $1,800. If you want an additional mode, ie street, you have to pay more. Sport Bike Track Gear's review of it was really good and I like that it's a kangaroo suit with lost of perf.

I don't like RST gloves though. While they're only $125, the quality doesn't seem the best and kind of have stumpy thumbs. I'm comparing them to Alpinestars gloves which cost three times as much, but still. One this Alpinestars does really good with gloves is adding a flex panel at the base of the thumb. RST boots are decent, on par with the Alpinestars SMX V2 boots I currently have.

Can anyone comment on Racer High Speed gloves?

Buy the best custom suit you can afford. I have a couple and see them as a good longterm investment. And their expense is a further incentive to not get fat. I am currently using racers gloves (black with natural kangaroo palms) and they have about 8K miles on them. They're comfortable and are cool enough in the heat. I like the design but can't attest to their crash worthiness and hope I never can. I have a pair of Daytona Security boots, they have a separate removeable inner that encompasses the foot made of a high impact ballistic sort of material. The outers are separate and when worn out you just buy new ones. The complete boots are pricey, I haven't looked lately but well over a thousand $'s I suspect. The inners I've had for 30 years (man am I old). I crashed in those boots multiple times while I still raced feet unscathed. I'm on my third or fourth set of covers.

I've been looking at Dainese here and there. Their boots in a 48 don't fit me, but RST in a 48 do. Go figure. Arguably the best quality in motorcycle gear though. If I could get gloves and boots that fit from them I'd consider paying the Dainese tax, $3,550 for a custom fit, not custom color Misano 3. It's weird they have tall sizes in suits, but boots stop at a US 13.

Will be getting a 4SR Ultra Light as next suit. I heard good things about Racer gloves. If I didn’t have Dainese Full Metal gloves already, I’d go with them. I’ve got some Dainese Torque 3 Out boots and their 7/10. Would probably go with Supertech R next time. I’ve always wondered how the Daytona Security Evo boot performs?

I had a 4SR suit, wasn't all too impressed with the quality. To be fair, when it got to me, it seemed it was wadded up and stuffed in a box. Kangaroo is no joke though, it's definitely lighter and it's noticeable.

First ride last month for my Tech Air 7X in my 2023 A* kangaroo suit, coming from a Tech Air 10 that finally acted like everyone else’s and failed.

I zipped my 7X into the suit, not a stand alone, the shoulder area is more substantial than the 10 and my suit that was a bit loose on me with the 10 from a couple of wet races, now fits perfectly with the 7X. Easy for me to get in/out and better ventilation while riding without the plastic bladder across my chest.

Never went Dainese but a comment from someone at the track that just switched suits, the Dainese boots were way less bulky than the “in the boot” design of A* and they found the extra sensitivity made a significant impact on foot placement and shifter/brake feeel….interesting.

Do you know what model suit you have? I keep looking for old stock hoping to find a race/7x suit.

I really really like my Dainese two piece! IT zips together around 75%, some track orgs require >50%, some dont care at all.

The pants were $700, the matching jacket was $800, this was back in 2019 though. Ive got a couple dozen track weekends, and prolly 100x Saturday blasts!

So easy to zip the top off and cool down inbetween sessions, or at lunch on Saturdays! might be worth a look BP..i can send ya pics if wanted.

I hadn't considered getting a two piece. It solves a bunch of problems though. For casually doing track days it's probably a better choice.

I have a one-piece Alpinestars base layer. It's miserable to wrestle on an off in a bathroom stall after mexican food and margaritas the night before.

exactly why i went two piece route....if your set on the airbags though...with Dainese they will be so $$$$$$$$$!

Get a two piece under suit….life changing!

I believe my suit is an Absolute from 2y ago. Kangaroo will change your life too, noticeably lighter.

I wish I could find an Absolute from two years ago. The current ones are hideous.
