I only really discovered the road racing scene a few years ago and I watch excitedly from down under. I know there's a lot of excitement about the Isle of Man TT (deservedly) but until recently I had no idea about the Irish road racing scene.
Two big events that lead up to the TT are the Cookstown 100 Homeand the Northwest 200 About the Vauxhall international 2013 North West 200 both of which generallynhave all your Isle of Man TT legends but instead of racing the stop watch they are racing each other shoulder to shoulder.

There were a number of 1199 in the super stock last year and one did pretty well. Will no doubt be more this year.
