Hello.
I will be buyin an 2011 848 evo that have driven 40100 km (24 916 miles).
The timing belt was changed and the valves adjusted at 22 990 km april 2020.

The question is. Is it really necessary to change timing belt and check the valves already in spring 2022? I will not be used much and I never drive fast or on track. The speed limit is maximum 80km/h (49 mph).

I personally don't think so. I have seen/heard more people's belts breaking from incorrect freeplay on new replacement belts than older ones from age or miles. Some also from idler bearings seizing up.

I knew someone with a 796 monster that went over 30k miles on the original before replacing and the belt still looked good. In my opinion part of it was to play it safe, the other part was to increase revenue by having customers bring the bikes in more often to do more maintenance.

It was a different story early on possibly , but the later belts would probably hold up as well as a car's timing belt and people usually only change those once every 5 to 10 years and 60 to 120k miles. Of course bikes rev higher ,but without valve springs on the Ducati there is much less stress on the belt to begin with.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think you should wait that long. I just don't think you need to replace them every year or two with minimal miles.
