Hi, took delivery of a 2014 899 yesterday. Last Ducati I owned was, back in 2003, a Monster 900sie. I expected the newer superquadro to be more refined, maybe even smooth in comparison to the older motor but I’m glad that this bike retains the character I fell in love with all those years ago. I’ve owned many bikes through the years, RD’s, RGV’s, GSXR’s, CBR, Speed triple, Daytona. I hadn’t had a bike in over 10 years until 2019, due to marriage and kids etc. I got back into riding with a Harley 48, heavily customised bobber. Then a GSX-S750, which didn’t do it for me... too smooth, no soul. Went for the Panigale cos I’m 50 in a few days time and, well .... it, why not!
