916 Fork Question

Hi all.

I am not a member of any other Ducati forum. Can anyone help me with a question relating to the interchangeability of 916 fork internalls?

Are 1998 916 SPS Forks the same as other model 916? I have a set of SPS forks for refurb and have the chance of 916B forks, it looks like only the bottoms are different. Can the parts be swapped round?
 
Yes, just change the feet, send the to hagon, he will build u one good set out of two, but the simple answer is yes
 
This may be of no help at all but back in 2000 at Road Atlanta we were switching forks on a Pro Thunder 748R and we gave Traxxion two sets of forks, one with the old 40mm spacing and a newer 65mm spacing fork. The guy working for Traxxion worked late into the night trying to figure out why they wouldn't go back together correct. IIRC the internals were different which caused a spacing problem and/or the foot was the difference. We were surprised, so was Traxxion. Make sure the guy working on the forks sees this post because I am almost positive there is some difference.
 
If the forks are ohlins kit then they are interchangeable it's only the Showa units that are not compatible... 748? What fork were u using
