Hello all,
Was given this stand by the guy from whom I bought my 996s a few years ago. It's obviously designed as a front or rear stand. Cannot find any photos or info anywhere on the interweb. Would like to know more about this stand, especially about the 8x1.25mm threaded hole in the spud. I'll attempt to post photos for clarification. Thanks in advance for any input.

That is a rear stand. And since the 996 has a single-sided swingarm, the stand appears correct. But I have no idea on the brand or manufacturer of that particular rear stand.

Assuming the welds are ok, and the structural integrity is still strong, the stand can still be used, although it might need a thread modification to work with other single-sided swingarm motorcycles.

Thanks for the reply. I got lucky. Stumbled onto a euro ducati website which shows that stand as available with the Euro spec 1999 996SPS. It's gold in color, same color as the 1999 frame, which is the same color as my 1999 996s. The 'spud', for lack of a better term, has two O.D.'s. One fits the fork through axle, the other the rear wheel through axle, so it can be used for either front or rear. Unfortunately, the parts diagram does not show a handle for the stand so I guess I'll have to make one. The other thing that is not clear is the 8x1.25mm thread in the end of the spud. Sure would like to know what that was intended for.
Here's another photo showing the stand. It cleaned up pretty well. Some mineral spirits, a bit of fine sandpaper on the rusty spud, a brass brush on a couple of the rustier spots, and a final wipe down with WD. Lookin' good!
Thanks again for your response.
