Excellent condition, #076 of 700, purchased in Germany (along with #608). Imported, titled and registered but never homologated. Last ridden late 2014 - been in climate controlled storage ever since.

i just went thru a minor detailing to make it presentable. Bike is very clean, as you’ll see in the pictures. All carbon panels have the original factory stickers.

Asking price is $45,000.

As you can see in the pics, we have 2nd one as well. That one has never been ridden and has only 1.2mi (2km).

Both are identical, purchased by the original owner in 2002 in Germany, and imported, titled and registered here in the US. Climate controlled storage all the time. Both are in southern NY.

What do you mean by "never homologated?" The 998R is a homologation bike for WSBK in 2002 so I am pretty sure it's homologated.

Also, do you have the mirrors and everything else it came with, like the plaque and such?

As far as homologated for the US. Gauges are metric, and I’ve been told that the Euro spec bike had more power. All 50 that were brought into the US by Ducati were slightly different spec, and the gauges were in MPH and Fahrenheit.

Mirrors came off for shipping (and detailing), and they are being reinstalled w fresh gaskets.

Thanks for that clarification.

I'm not sure where you got that info from but , for the record, all of the 998R's have the same motor and spec and HP. If you are referring to a 998S, then the US never got the S spec motor and so the 998S we got here has less power than than 998S everyone else got. But not the R.

In the US, the 998R was sold as a "race bike" and so came with light block offs and a different tail section and decals all over that say "competition use only." If you wanted to ride it on the street you could get all the parts from the dealer and they all just went right in but other than that it's the exact same bike as what the europeans have.

And for the record, $45k for a 2300 mile 998R that's fully serviced and ready to go is a very solid deal.
