Hi guys,

I bought CNC paramac rear sets for my 1299. The brake side went on fine. The shifter side it seems like the shift rod is too long. Is there a trick to getting it on correctly, or will I have to find a solution? Has anyone else experienced this?

Thank you.

Hi Thamer. Don't know if I am teaching you to suck eggs but just in case....CNC Racing should have supplied you with a shorter link rod as part of the kit (if these are the RPS400 rearsets). Note that to undo the OEM one, you should remove the black electrical connection (two allen screws on the QS body). The rod is a left hand thread. I would suggest you try and place the body section of the QS in the soft jaws of a vice with some protective cloth or soft wood, so as not to damage it. Next before you attempt to loosen it you are going to need to apply some heat. A decent hairdryer will be sufficient. Aim the heat at the threaded section coming out of the QS body as this will help soften the copious amount of threadlock Ducati needlessly apply when it's assembled. Remembering it's LH thread, you should be able to turn the rod with a decent well fitting spanner (I would use some masking tape over the rod flats to prevent marring the metal) and gradually loosen it until the threadlock breaks its hold. When you fit the new CNC rod, apply a little dab of Loctite 243 to the thread (having cleaned off all the old gunge) and fit the OEM spherical ball joint to the other end of the new rod. Tighten locknut and you should be good to go.

Thanks for chiming in. I'd show you the problem via pic but the .... way you have to attach photos on this site sucks. I will try again

uhh. CNC didnt does Not supply a shift rod with the rearsets. I'm not sure what RPS400 models are but pramac or limited black racing ones..they didnt.

If Thamer has these rearsets, then I am sorry but you are wrong:

Adjustable rear sets RPS Ducati SBK Panigale series Team Pramac MotoGP Limited Edition - CNC Racing

Install instructions mention the supplied rod......

If these are the same as his then YES they do come with a new shift rod, as do the black and silver versions and as did mine.

Those are them. I will check I don’t think I saw a shift rod.

Didi you buy these second hand? If so you'll need to ask the vendor, else you can order the rod and ball joint direct fron CNC, part numbers are in the diagram I listed. The ball joint CNC provide is smaller than the OEM item and perhaps uses a different thread, so I don't know if you can get away with using the OEM one. The rod you will definitely need.

OK thanks guys for chiming in. So I bought these brand new came to me through the mail for 12 99. No shift rod came with my we resrsets. Long story I cut the OEM shifter rod to make it fit. Because it is the silly season now, and didn’t want to wait to find a they sent me a set for all 11 99 or that my order was missing a piece , ( I highly doubt as the packaging was vacuum sealed), I did it.

I will Reach out to them after the holidays.

Thanks again

That's odd. Mine came in their own foam lined presentation briefcase, very James Bond. Perhaps CNC are cutting costs these days.

So did mine. And inside that foam lined box were the rear sets vacuum seal CNC rapping.

Then i think you need to contact CNC and explain you were not supplied with the shortened rod. The problem is if you ever decide to sell the bike and put it back to stock you'll have to buy a new oem rod to replace the one you cut down.
