Hello Everyone,
This morning i checked my oil level and saw that was below the bottom line so i put some 10w 40 motorex full syntetic and then realize that the owner manual recommend 15W 50.Should i drain the oil?

Thanks

NOOOO!
Unless you put in like 2 quarts or something it wont make a difference at all.
Are you sure you are checking the level correctly? NOT on the rear stand, held completely upright and level? It was BELOW the bottom line when bike was COLD or after being run (HOT) ? How many miles on the bike dude?

I checked after a ride,and wasn't on the stand.i have 310 miles currently.
Thanks man.

It's supposed to be upright on level ground when cold. Told it should be exactly in the middle of the window.

Cold vs Hot

It shouldnt be entirely too hot when ya check it. Wait at least 15 mins after a ride and then check it out. Anywhere between the two lines (marks on casing) is fine. For the hell of it I check it totally cold as well to see where its at.

Hope you are breaking that thing in HARD my friend! Do NOT baby it at all. Use all the gears, use DQS, use ALL the modes including RACE mode and wring it out. Do roll ons in 3rd gear all the way up to 7k, then do it in 4th, etc. Use all your gears and vary speeds and RPMs man. Obviously this is only my opinion based on years of breaking in new Ducati superbikes. You will find hundreds of other opinions on this site using the search engine.
Have fun man!!

If you'll look in the manual, they list several weight oils you can use depending on temp range. pg 233 of us owner's manual

10w40 is ok as it 15w50

Thanks for all your info![/QUOTE]

Running-in recommendations
Maximum rpm (fig. 147) Rotation speed for running-in period and during
standard use (rpm): 1) up to 1000 km; 2) from 1000 to 2500 km.
Up to 1000 km During the first 1000 km, keep an eye on the rev
counter. It should never exceed 5,500 - 6,000 rpm (included). During the first hours of riding, it is advisable to run the engine at varying load and rpm, though still within recommended limit.
Important
During the first 1000 km (Running-in), i.e. as long as the Odometer displays a value lower than or equal to 1000 km, the “orange area” (pre-warning area - indicated on the display in orange both with the bargraph filling and with the indication of the corresponding figure) is displayed when engine reaches 6000 rpm. During this running-in period, it is recommended not to exceed 6000 rpm so make sure the instrument panel does not display the “orange area” of the bargraph.

To this end, roads with plenty of bends and even slightly hilly areas are ideal for a most efficient running-in of engine, brakes and suspensions. For the first 100 km use the brakes gently. Avoid sudden or prolonged braking. This will allow the friction material on the brake pads to bed in against the brake discs.
For all mechanical parts of the motorcycle to adapt to one another and above all not to adversely affect the life of basic engine parts, it is advisable to avoid harsh accelerations and not to run the engine at high rpm for too long, especially uphill.
Furthermore, the drive chain should be inspected frequently. Lubricate as required.
From 1000 to 2500 km At this point, you can squeeze some more power out
of your engine. However never exceed 7,000 rpm.
