Brands/people *should* get political. It's the only way to know who does or doesn't deserve our time/money/whatever. There's nothing more spineless than believing something and refusing to own it out of fear for the consequences. Especially when it comes to companies.
P.S They probably did a ton of market research before wading out into this territory. The number of people they figure they're going to offend almost certainly isn't anywhere remotely close to half.
