akra exhaust questions

Guys, seriously, why are you ordering very expensive Ducati parts from this place? I hear nothing but bitching about it. You paid up front for a $3500 product that was backordered at the time with no anticipated availability date, and are giving this place an interest-free loan! Just request a refund from your order, wait until they're ACTUALLY off of backorder (which I will let you all know the day it comes off of backorder) and then order one and you'll have it in a few days. .... their "price", it's a $3500 exhaust system, does saving $45 make it worthwhile to endure B.S. customer service and pay 3 months in advance?? Just ask any other Ducati-competent Akra dealer to price-match against the mummy and you can probably get it for even a few dollars LESS than them and won't have to endure this heartache.... We will have them in stock as soon as they're available, we will NOT be advertising them on our web site for the general public at a stupid price that is $35 over dealer cost. However, we do price match for customers who ask, especially when it keeps it in the Ducati family, and we hope that once you've bought a $3500 exhaust system that we make $35 on that we at least have the chance to give you a good customer experience and you'll come back to buy other things from us in the future.

+1 hit it out of the park.

Problem is i am in Australia, on top of purchase price i have to pay shipping and tax. $3500 is extremely cheap considering shops in Australia are selling them for over $5000  So i am saving over $1000 easily

It's hard to get a company to price match when you can actually go in and speak to them and everything has to be done by email, i've never had a company do that for me in the past and i don't think it will happen in the future. I have yet to find any local shop that stock the system or even sell it and the one ducati workshop i deal with all the time even told me to just buy it online as they will never ever be able to get it anywhere near online price for me.

Add to that my SO bought it for me for our anniversary, i mention to her i had use motomummy in the past and they where good (which they where). So after all her research she ended up going with them, no point cancelling the order now we have waited this long.

Huh?

Look, I paid my R off and am drooling for this exhaust. Mark and I were chatting and apparently he's beginning to drool himself

Lets see when mine actually shows up. I figure I'll take what I can get for my Full termi and hopefully i won't be more than about $1800 or so out of pocket for the akra.

THOSE. BLUE. PIPES. :D

Apparently you seem to think I was laughing at YOU Whitey? NOT!

I like the akra pipe, but I already have the SSTK exhaust system, which may not be lighter, but it seems to work. Maybe if I can sell my entire system,( bothe SSTK and the pipes I got with my R) I would buy one.

Any takers...lol?

Thamer,you got a price in mind? :D

FYI for Akra fans, the FULL SYSTEM is back in stock in limited quantities, and we also got a couple more slip-ons this past week, so everything is in stock now, let me know if you want one! ;)

Update on Akra exhausts: We sold the 2 full systems we received earlier this week, and now have 2 more on the way which appear to be the LAST TWO in the country at this point! Looks like they're going to be backordered until around September now. So if you want a full system, NOW is the time! ;)

These pipes ARE LOUD AS HELL!!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM.

thanks again Jarel for the Akra and the ttx-gp shock, and thanks for getting them shipped right out. I'm so damn sad- they're both coming in the mail Monday but sadly I'm leaving 5am Monday for two trackdays.
I guess my next trip down to NJMP I'll be sporting the new goodies.

Can't wait to hear this thing in person.

Any idea on how the slips sound?

They're pretty loud, honestly hearing them at different times I couldn't tell the difference between that and the full system. Maybe if they were side by side there would be a difference you could discern, but the canister/baffle is the same as the full system so really should sound about the same.

............And one of the 2 full systems is now sold, so just ONE left! Hello, crack dealer calling! Come get your crack!!! :D:D

The slip ons should contain catalytic converters, right?

No, the slip-on is not CARB compliant, Akra does not make a CARB-compliant exhaust for the Panigale other than the stock one on the Superleggera.

Are the Akras much louder then stock with the inserts in? And I cannot find them on your site under the 1199. You have 1 left?

1)
3) The slip-ons will fit the stock headers, which means they would also fit the Termi headers if you have the "Y" pipe piece for the headers - which you would have if you bought a new set of Termi headers but you might not have if you bought a set of "take-off" headers from an R.
(Hint... Hint....) ;)

I did not know the Termignoni headers came with an "Y" pipe that would fit the standard slip ons?

I don't know for sure, never heard one in person with the inserts in, don't know why anyone would ever put them in??

Here's the 1199 exhaust page on our site:
http://www.motospecialties.com/store.asp?store=ducatiomaha&level=type2&type=Superbike&type1=1199 Panigale&type2=Exhaust

One of the slip-ons sold last night, so now we have one slip-on and one full system left this morning.

Yeah, for instance I have the 899 Termi slip-on canisters on my bike along with the 1199 Termi full system headers, and it all fits up together.

You have the Termi slip ons and the Termi headers, Those do not fit together with an Y pipe but an X pipe. The standard slips fit with a Y pipe. There is no way the Termi manifolds will fit standard slips (or Akra slips) except if you have a Y pipe made up for it.
