Has anyone gone with only the akra scilencer? I'm thinking of going that route in order to actually get a dB killer that fits so I might be able to do trackdays... The Panigale is essentially banned on my local tracks for being too loud even with the stock exhaust.. Obnoxiously strict 100 dB regulations :/

If the stock exhaust is too loud for your track, then there is no way in hell the Akra will be allowed. dB killers or not.

akra with silencer is 106 - 2 db louder
akra no silencer will be about 110-111db

Stock Panigales failing sound testing has been a pretty regular occurrence since 2012. Seems kinda silly to buy a bike knowing it's going to fail if the track is important to you.

I wonder if your dealer can get the Japanese spec exhaust for you. It ruins the bike but it probably passes sound checks.

Count yourself lucky... At Laguna Seca, the sound limit is now 90DB... YES!!! 90 freaking DB... Stupid .......s buy multi-million dollar homes by a World famous racetrack, then complain about the noise...

90db!? That's insane--what are people doing to meet the below 90db requirement? Is that just for track days or for races too?

Have that same issue at an airport. We have to climb out really fast because million dollar homes added 60 years after airport was built!

Just for trackdays. Laguna has a few "unlimited" days, but the cost is exorbitant and it's just for top level series like MotoGP, WSBK and Indy Car etc, not for us peasants...

I have the Akra slip-ons / silencer and not the full system. Even with the db killers in place there is no way it will pass the noise test at the track. However, all the events organisers know that the Panigale won't pass the test on standard cans and are a little lenient. Here's how the noise test typcially goes:

Marshall: Its going to fail.
Me: I know
Marshall: Lets test it in any case:
Me: Ok
Marshall: Yep, its 108db. Go and see the organisers.
Me: Ok.. trundle off down pit lane to the office. Hello, I have a Ducati that has failed the noise test.
Organiser: Is it a Panigale?
Me: Yes
Organiser: They all fail
Me: Yes, I know, even with stock exhausts they fail.
Organiser: Go out on your sighting lap and we will moniter. If we flag you, come in.
Me: Ok. Proceed out on sighting lap, make sure revs are low passing the trackside microphone.
Get on with the day.

90db! What are they racing? Electric bikes?!?!

We get that here in Australia as well. Race tracks built way out of suburban areas have the urban sprawl encroach on them, then next minute the track is being shut down due to noise complaints. Happened to way too many good tracks here past 10 years :(

Or keep the Panigale for the streets and buy another bike that makes far less noise.

Where is Phl at? I am sure he can engineer a removable db killer for the standard pipes?
