I watched a neevesybikes video on YouTube where he mentioned installing a shim under the top clap. I suspect if one was to make a spacer you could get the top clamp higher and therefore raise the clipons.

I thought about that except the top triple is angled down at the forks and is flush w the steerer cap. Bringing it up might be a little dangerous. Interestingly, the WSBK bike top triple hits right at the top of the fork legs (5 mm) of the V4S at stock height. Picked up some aluminum tubing to make spacers

What a childish response to someone trying to be helpful.

Wait, I think I get it… You got upset because I suggested a taller part and you thought I was having a dig at your lack of height… That’s so funny.

I didn't even think this yet you extrapolated that. Also you are not helpful

I said I was trying to be helpful… if that’s how you respond to people trying to be helpful then I doubt many will want to do so.

You expressed concerned about raising the top triple and I commented that a taller steering head bolt might help. It seems perfectly logical to me.

I could not think of any other reason for such a childish response, but it seems there wasn’t one. It’s just who you are.

You really are a sad little man, and I think the only sensible thing to do is what others have done and put you on the ignore list. You might like to consider why people do this.

If you wanted to be helpful you’d inform yourself instead of being contradictory. What you should do is either accept what I’ve said or do your own due diligence.

I’ve done the research and Petrucci’s bars are like 2 cm higher than Bautista’s which seems counterintuitive. I know bc I matched up the bikes (blue = Bautista, green = Petrucci). Bars are also at different angles. Bautista's bars are wider than stock for sure, which I think would also aid in getting the forearms away from the tank.

I wouldn’t say something unless I had evidence to back things up. Petrucci and Bautista also run different rake and trail. Their front ends setups are very different at least from the photos I could glean. The also have different tanks. Petrucci's is more like the stock tank. Bautista's is considerably lower.

😂

Worked out rake and trail from ‘the photos I could glean’😂

To be fair, you can learn quite a bit from pictures. For example, you could probably have a decent guess at lean angle from the rear tyre in the picture in the opening post of this thread.

I hear he is that good he can see the difference between 23.5.and 24.5 degrees at a glance......and as for for reading trail he can see that from 100 metres.... let alone being able to distinguish between ground trail and real trail..........

It’s crazy to see the level you are at by how excited you are about chicken strips …when you have been doing it for years you realise it’s just a gauge that you could get rid of at any time!
impressing the little Billy’s in your novice group by excessive lean angles isn’t high on the priority list .. in fact spending as little time as possible on the side of the tyre is much more beneficial to a lap time than thinking you are billy big bollix!

No chicken strip in rear is 100% pre-requisite to go fast these days. This is something you just need to accept and work on.

No one is perfect, I had lots of crap days after crashes when I can't throw the bike into the turn at acceptable speed.

One step at the time.
