mate it gets difficult when you have more than one bike geographically spaced.

How so? You gotta pay to play. But it sounds like you’re flush with cash so either paying for a new engine or doing regular refreshes should be no problem. Just get it to an engine builder and have them sort it out. What happened to all this capital gains saved by living in Switzerland haha?

Woodcraft is the way to go, full adjustability with huge options, side versus front mount, risers, offsets, and bar angles all optional and adjustible.

And double sided attachments so you don’t have to remove the top yoke to change out the clipons

No one in paddock uses this crap

You don’t say… Might not be clip ons but their parts are used in the paddock

They posted a vid of you

Not me but the guy is definitely fast. Was doing 1m56s on a bike w less than half the cc’s. I think this was B session, not A’s (not to toot my own horn).

Average A pace was 1m35-40s with me being probably one of the slower riders in it at 1m48-50s. Though I wish I would’ve remembered to hit record on the GoPro for the last session. I finally got into the sweet spot for the front tire pressure and felt I could push and had a good rhythm. I’d anticipate maybe 1m45-46s. Sliding the front in Rainey’s was exhilarating to say the least 😳

A bit of an update if anyone cares...

Spoke to the seller of these AELLA clip ons and while they are supposed to be amazingly machined, they ultimately aren't significantly different from the OEM bars. The increased bar rise is offset by steeper bar angle. Basically, the position wouldn't change.

So what's the next best way to get height into the bars without running risers? The triple clamp. The OEM triple clamp is angled down from the steering head to the forks by 5 mm. I looked at what the factory team is running and it turns out they basically run a CNC'd plate as the triple clamp.

If you just run a straight plate triple clamp from the OEM height you gain 5 mm. And if you decrease the triple clamp thickness, you can gain more bar height. This would help me gain about 1 cm of bar height. I decided to dust off my CAD skills and flex my pea brain a little and came up with this:

Still waiting on quotes to see if this is realistic to machine. If it's under $500, it might be worth pursuing. It's probably overbuilt a bit. Increased the wall thickness around the fork tube and steerer by 1 mm from OEM. Will have to machine a new spacer too...

I wouldn’t expect any of them to change the bar height. Swap the bars to the other side? Ducabike do raised bars with a 6.5 drop.

What does Bautista use? He seems to manage and he’s not much taller than you…

Has that triple that I designed. That and a lower profile tank.

Less offset bars wouldn’t help my situation. Bars may be closer but they’re still too low to get my forearm over the tank. In fact, I’d bet they’d exacerbate things since the tank is higher at the midpoint

I was talking about the drop - not the offset. Marginally more drop but raised, and offset looks similar from Ducabike.

Bautista doesn’t have the triple that you designed… You’ve no idea what he has. 🫣

Maybe you’d be better off with a smaller bike. If it wouldn’t be a Ducati then so be it. We’d miss you of course but it is what it is.

Quote to machine this is only $100. Definitely going to give this a go.

Bautista is 5'6" so about an inch shorter than me and uses what look like similar offset clip ons to stock. There's got to be a reason for this. I think this flat triple clamp is one way to help solve this positioning issue. 1 cm higher bars will make a huge difference.

I also followed @KarlKani's advice on raising the rear sets to max and will work on my knee flexibility (meniscal tear). Definitely feel more connected to the tank with the knees higher and can pivot around the tank better
